How to make power with your BMW N54

So the N54 is a great engine for tuning, some people even refer to it as the German 2jz. Why is it so good? Well the n54 was bmw’s first experience with turbos, so they made sure the engine was strong enough to handle the boost. What does that mean? Well the N54 has a forged bottom end from factory, which means you can slap on a big turbo and make some serious numbers with out hurting the motor. But there are multiple ways of building this engine. And today we will discuss a few. Now hopefully at the end you will know exactly which path you would like to follow.

I have a 2013 gti big turbo and port and direct injection. Everything from the fuel system to the induction system was upgraded. Thing was making 500 wheel on a stock bottom end and weighs 3000lbs with me and a tank of gas in it. The fun thing with the car was its acceleration. 0-60mph was 7.4 seconds 60-120mph was 6.8 seconds. This was because first and second spun the tires like crazy and third only spun till about 80mph or about 130kph. The car would pick up the front wheels under acceleration and made the steering real floaty. The issue is that I’m now stationed overseas and I need a car that can compete with the craziness of my gti. The e9x 335i’s are looking real good right about now. It’s either this or I turbo ls swap a Miata and die in two weeks from the death trap.

would like to note it is completely possible to do small runs on a stock car with the stage 2+ tune, there is an option to check for running stock downpipes

so far I've got 17t Turbos, 1st Racing Upgraded Inlets(didnt do outlets while i was there), VRSF 7.5inch stepped FMIC, VRSF DCIs, VRSF Street Exhaust, Index 10s on bank 1 and Index 12s in bank 2(I have the other set of 12s just need to get them serviced), ETS Chargepipe, HKS BoV, n55 oem sparkplugs(one step colder from factory), High Performance Coil Packs and an xhp stage 2 transmission tune with an MHD stage 1 tune.
And before yall get on my case, no the Upgraded twins on the OTS tune had not been causing me issues. I'm going the custom tune route once I get a 3.5 bar map and a stage 2 racworks fuel pump. As well as some maintenance items(maintenance before mods, especially on the N54)

Vargas turbos are junk. The fuel issue over 500whp isn't the injectors, it's the hpfp. I make a solid 470whp right now with just fbo stock turbos. Will be installing new turbos soon. And a new clutch with a smfw. Planning for 25psi on e70.
