Run a blower @ 6-8 psi and that 5.7L hemi will be perfectly fine while making good power. You should see around 500 RWHP. You may need to upgrade your fuel pump, it depends on the system and boost levels. Get a nice tire on the back and you’re golden. A LSD is going to wake the vehicle up and put that power down better but that ran range from $3, 400-3, 800. If you really want to go quick grab a forged short block or rotating assembly, get a custom grind cam with valve train components, melling pumps (oil and water pump), an upgraded torque converter, grab a heavy duty timing chain set from somewhere like HHP, get your heads ported by a company like mmx, slap on some nice long tube headers with a catback exhaust, toss in a bit of a cooler thermostat (180°-190°), and you can easily make 700-1000 WHP. You’ll eventually need 1000hp axles, a valve body can hold you over for a good minute (~650-700whp) but eventually you’ll need a built trans from somewhere like SHR, a fore innovations fuel system will be needed for those larger power numbers, a suspension set-up will be key, and of course a wheel and tire set-up to get busy on.

Just upgraded my 5.7 Ram, bigger cam, springs, hardened pushrods, and a CAI, but instead of long tube, I chose shorty headers. I wanted the low end power.

Im $8k in it already, and Im very happy with the power. I gotta get the tuned dialed in a little more and, Im very happy with it.

I put headers on my 5.7l hemi and a new crank and even added a 4inch AFE cold air intake. Best advice ive listened to!!!

Next will be the heads! Eagles... here i come.

EDIT #1: So im a street car guy, but i also need a functional semi-offroad capable vehicle. Im thinking of sticking LSD and an A-arm suspension on my magnum with a 3" kit.... what ya all think?

06 magnums making 463hp 481tq to the tires with heads cam and intake. Upped the compression from 9.6:1 to 11.5:1 and got a kill tune installed. Completely changed the way the car feels

My next-door neighbor has a 2018 Dodge charger RT he went to the junkyard and got a Dodge ram 5.7 camshaft and a 392 rear ratio of the ram truck put it on his charger what a big difference his car is faster and quick I do not know why people don’t build their own cars you just have to wait a couple of months till the factory makes it and deliver it to the dealership the only require a security deposit

5.7 Hemi's, even the Pre Eagle 5.7 Hemi's can make great power. Their displacement is perfect for boost. Think about it. People are boosting 4.8 and 5.3 LS because the displacement. More meat to the blocks that can deal with boost better. It all comes down to what you want to do and how much you want to spend. The right parts on a 5.7 Hemi and you can hurt some feelings and have a nice ride. Do it right the first time. I was going to get a set of Eagle 5.7 heads, tie it in with a 6.1 intake manifold and get a custom grinded cam kit from a private dealer. I may end up port and polishing the heads and intake for a bit more CFM. Give the top end some more breathing room before buying a supercharger kit.

I have a dud hemi and all i did was intake exhaust and tune, its not the fastest but for 800 bucks its quicker than the newest
5.7 chargers/challengers and i dont get completely destroyed by the 6.4

I don’t get why they say the hemi is a dud, it has all the architecture there to be a beast, even in the 5.7 package. One of the best head flowing head designs from factory with closed chamber heads for high compression. Dual spark ignition. Crossbolted mains.

I’m planning a 5.7 build right now for my 2010 ram (because why not). I’m looking at doing a 392 stroker kit, FRP cam kit, 6.4 intake, headers. Still debating whether to do high compression NA or boost.
