I remember my dad telling me about his airline flights between the US and Europe going basically that route, because they didn't have enough range to make it all the way without refueling in Iceland.

Taking my 177 to Iceland for the Eve Online event is a dream of mine but the idea of flying over open water for hours on end is nerve wracking to just think about. When I fly back to the Midwest to see family there's an hour or so over the Great lakes and even that is worrying, even though I have no doubt in the plane.

No but seriously, I was planning to do my PPL there but I got bad results on the vision tests. So I went to an optician that week and it turns out I have early onset cataracts. So now I somehow have to save up for eye surgery before I can start even thinking about getting my PPL. Might take me 20 years but I’ll get there 😂😂
