Pilots' view of a thunderstorm over the Atlantic Ocean

We observed this very active storm was observed over the western side of the Atlantic ocean whilst crossing from Orlando to London Gatwick.

If you remember planes move at 200-500 miles an hour and that cloud is barely moving shows you the shear scale of sizes here.

Looks like a low topped thunderstorm under 30, 000 feet. The ones in the tropics can push 50, 000 and passenger jets cannot fly over those, just around.

Morgantown West Virginia is almost 70 miles South of me, when I sit on my Back Porch and theres a Thunderstorm there, THIS is what I see, the tops of the "Electrified Popcorn" clouds. (Im up in the Hills of Pa)
