My friend Ben wanted to put together his first gaming PC and we went with an all Intel build for the setup that I put together for him with a 12th gen Intel i7 and an Intel Arc770.

So far he is enjoying it for his first one

I have a770 i was scared to get it instead of a rtx 3060 im so happy its amazing the a770 never crashes weekly drivers and performance is amazing

The “double performance” with recent driver upgrades was misleading marketing. The graphs they showed were “performance per dollar” not raw FPS. What Intel did was lower their prices along with the driver update. So… their graphs showed an increase in “performance per dollar” that nearly doubled.

The performance was the same in most cases - See Hardware Unboxed. Also, Intel confirmed HU’s tests matched their own results.

I truly believe that with enough work on the driver's Intel could create some amazing GPU's. Remember, driver are everything. When Nvidia released a special driver for cyberpunk a few months ago, I saw a 20-30 fps boost.

Personally I wouldn't care if a video driver download is 20GB if it meant it never caused me any headaches and just always works. So, hey, driver devs, if filesize is what's holding you back from releasing bug free stuff, you feel free to quintuple the file size.
