A potential divider is any circuit that is designed to divide the voltage by a specific amount. In IB physics potential divider problems usually ask you to choose a resistance for one part of the circuit so that a different part receives a desired voltage.

@0.50sec, you say " 2 non- potentiometer resistors" but in the image on the right, you show 3 non-potentiometer resistors. n we think of R2 as a Load resistance in parallel with half of R1?
