Derivation of potential divider equation

Since I uploaded a video on how to derive the equation for series capacitor p.d. I thought I'd do a video on series resistor p.d - i.e. the potential divider equation.

Thank you so much for the explanation. Once you made the substitution, the equation made alot of sense to me. But it also made me question as to why don't they teach the equation with the Input Voltage & R1 swapped?
