Also, keep in mind im comparing a non Aspec '12-14 to an Aspec '09-11, so it's not a fair comparison. I forgot to mention, I'm retrofitting the new TLX '18-20 grill into mine. This will make it look more agressive then 09-11, so stay tuned! Along with jewel eyes it'll look👌.

09-11 I think is aggressive af and I literally love the huge grille. I would never colormatch the grille, if anything I would paint it white. Although I think I would color match the chrome door parts + those chrome strips on the roof

I'm sorry but I will still choose the 9-11 TL over the 12-14. The 9-11 looks more imposing while the 12-14 looks so simplistic

Great video, I always liked how the 2012-2014 models looked compared to the 2009-2014 with its blacked out headlights. One thing I did noticed about the 6-Speed automatic vs the 5-speed is how early the 6-speed shifts into 2nd gear. & I noticed how the 6-speed doesn’t mind “lugging” the engine vs the 5-peed. I like that since both the 3.5L & 3.7L V6 engine have this nice muscular “warmth” when it’s being either transmission “lugs” the engine.

As far as speed is concerned, regardless of the 4th-Gen TL both the 3.5L & 3.7L are the same speed. Mostly because the SH-AWD versions are heavier, & Acura needed to put the J37 to compensate.

09-11 looks more aggressive and stands out. First time I saw the 12-14 I thought it was a regular car like a civic.

if I have SH-AWD, I'd take the 09-11
If I have the FWD, I'd choose the 12-14

09-11 is best, the aggressiveness of it makes it more masculine, 12-14 not as much 🤷🏻‍♂️. I own a 2010 sh-awd and its a blast to drive amd that j3.7 engine sound is amazing 👍

Personally I think the 12-14 A-Spec gives it a a more wide body look instead of the 09-11 giving it a more aggressive look. Took different view points but all in all they both look great.

12 -14 is nicer, just get the aero kit on it with those stock 19” and your dual quads

I have owned 8 Acura vehicles in my life in the following order:
'87 Acura Integra RS 3-dr
'05 Acura TL
'07 Acura TL Nav
'10 Acura TSX V6 Tech
'12 Acura TL Advance
'12 Acura TL Advance (My second '12)
'13 Acura TL Advance
'16 Acura TLX Advance
Pretty much loved all of them. My favorites were my '07 TL, my '13 TL and my '16 TLX. I love the look of the current TLX ('21 and newer) but I ended up replacing my '16 TLX with a '20 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T. I couldn't justify paying considerably more for a newer TLX 2.0T that underperforms the Accord Touring. I know I could buy a TLX Type S but those are significantly more money and get absolutely horrendous fuel economy. I drive about 20k miles per year and with gas prices where they are and then premium vs regular on top of that, it just doesn't seem like a financially rational decision. If they would give the TLX 2.0T 35 more horsepower to offset its 500lb weight difference over the Accord, I would buy one but for now I'm enjoying my Accord 2.0T. However, I really do find the current TLX to be a beautifully designed car and should they choose to up its power in the midcycle refresh to the 305 - 310 hp range, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

So the trunk part bottom that you don’t like looks like the 3rd gen front bottom grill. I can see a lot of 3rd gen in this 4th gen but just beefier. Like head lights and quad tips. Nice vid!

Hi, I have a question, is there any main visual differences between the regular vs SHAWD? I'm in the process of buying my 1st 4th gen, I see a few that are marked as the SHAWD, but no badge, so makes me weary before buying. I'm looking for a 12+

I have a 09 TL but the 12-14 looks better. The grill on the older model is just too big and only looks good with the aspec kit. Imo color matching the beak makes it look worse unless the car is black.
