I agree...when buying Acura, look for the ones with SH-AWD. We put a lot of miles on my cars (around 50k per year) and prefer slightly used, reliable and dependable vehicles. We bought our first Honda product in 2006 (Used Off-Lease 2004 Honda Pilot EXL) and was hooked on Honda products. A couple of years later, I purchased an Off-Lease 2005 Acura RL...WOW...Amazing car. Since then, I've bought (all off-lease vehicles, all Advance models) 2012 Acura MDX, 2014 Acura MDX, 2 separate 2017 Acura MDX's, and just purchase a couple of months ago a 2019 Acura MDX. What amazing vehicles! I'm convinced Honda products will last forever if you maintain them.

I got my RDX for 13k out the door it’s been super reliable and fun to drive. It’s got plenty of power and drive better than lots of new cars. There is a headlight issue where the reflectors get messed up so your low beams become super dim. New headlights are like 300 bucks so not the worst replacement cost. I would seriously recommend the car!

I own a 2014 TL Special Edition and it’s the most reliable car I’ve ever had. I’ve had it for almost 7 years and I’ve only had to change the battery and a serpentine belt plus normal maintenance

My 3rd gen TL. I hate the interior. The transmission needed rebuilding….still my favorite car.

Great video and complete info on what not to do and what to do. The two vehicles are great also as long as maintenance was kept up. The oil consumption is real. I own two acura TL SH AWD in the 5 speed auto and 6 speed manual. I don't believe in financing myself but to reach its own. I own my cars because I don't want to be obligated to a payment. Research is your biggest thing to do. Carfax, mechanic check and records on used car is best way to go with used cars. I am big on checking background if possible

So THIS is why the value skyrocketed all of a sudden… bro this is my dream car, I FINALLY bought it at $5k. a lot of miles, but I’m just glad I was able to find it within budget.

I see one of the complaints on the TL was excessive cabin noise at 7:49, and I can attest to that after I test drove a new 2011 TL. Acura added a lot of sound dampening material starting in 2012, so if you hate noise, get that year or newer. I bought a new 2013 TL 3.5L FWD and it is pleasantly quiet and still rattle free and reliable after 10 years. Best car I ever owned. I would not recommend the 3.7L V6 with SH-AWD however, that engine is the one that leaks oil.

Got my used 2007 Acura RL for $5300 with 124k miles. It has 172k now 3 years later and I couldn't be happier. They're difficult to find but such a great car, I've dropped $3-4k getting tires, new motor mounts, timing belt and water pump, coil packs, rotors, struts.. but all of that is basic maintenance with such a high mileage car. She's a gem and I plan on running it to 300k if I can make it.

I bought my 2014 Acura TL in 2017 from an Acura dealership. It was certified, and I've driven the heck out of it, and always get my scheduled maintenance...so far, so good. I'm thinking about an Acura RDX, or the Lexus NX for my next vehicle. Maybe the Camry XSE hybrid, if I decide to get a sedan.

lol nice, I have both these vehicles - 2012 TL sh-awd 6 speed manual, and 2018 RDX elite. the RDX with the V6 is less fun to drive imo because it uses the conventional AWD system instead of sh-awd.

I think people need to listen to Kevin's statement at the beginning: with the higher interest rates, one may be better off buying new in some cases.

Bought a 2011 TSX in 2014 w 19K for 25K for my daughter, she moved to NYC and overseas so now I have it as well as my 97 Nissan XE truck and 2011 Cruze, Bothe with manuals.

That Acura is a nice car, and for long road trips I prefer it, but otherwise I love driving the old school sticks....
... and I can see why you prefer the TL, it looks a lot bigger than the TSX, but it's not.

thought i'd let you know the hondas 3.7 engines had the oil consumption issues, while the 3.5 engines were reliable tanks.

I agree the TL is the sum of its parts. Its not my first choice but is a great pick.

If I was in the market for a DD sedan: Mazda6, Camry/ES, or TL would have my attention
