I'm a 82 year old Toyota man but I've never owned a Honda. However, I rate them to be cars that will do 500, 000 miles with proper care and would not hesitate to own one. I really enjoy your videos and sincerely appreciate the time and effort you put into them. Americans should thank you Scotty.

That has to be the best explanation of the VTEC and the new Honda engine I have ever heard. Another great video Scotty.

48 years old and I love both Honda and Toyota. They make the best power train's there is. And will outlast the chassis. If they're maintained properly. I've never had any problems. Out of any of them I ever owned.

I love the 1.8 that was in my 2008 Honda Civic. I would've kept that coupe if I hadn't promised it to my son. That car had enough oomph for me. I also love the 2.4 that is in my wife's 2009 CRV. It has 180, 000 miles on it & and is still going strong.

I’m 51 year man, always owned a Honda Si. I loved the Vtec and enjoyed the screaming high rpm’s. I now own a 10th gen civic Si. Absolutely love it.
As far as Toyota, I have never owned one. I like them as well and wouldn’t have any issues owning one. The point, I love Japanese cars.

6:03 - 6:13 here are the actual engines he shows:
1: D16y7/y8. most commonly found in 6th gen civics
2: C30/32 Very uncommon engine, used in Acura legends and NSX's
3: k20/23/24 found in tons of hondas after 2003 like the element, accord, cr-v, tsx, rsx, rdx
4: F20c/22c found only in the s2000, notable for having the highest HP per liter of any engine when it came out
5: J30/32/35/37 the main v6 honda has used since the early 2000's, actually an american based design, vs the others being japanese designs. found in every mid to large honda and acura. pilot, accord, odyssey, mdx, TL and RL

I work at the factory building the new engine, and actually the whole new Pilot. I do various processes required to put it together. The new design is easier to build, that much I know. Thanks for doing this video.

You knocked the explanation of vtec out of the park with this one Scotty and team. Awesome job to all of you that worked on producing this excellent video.

I’m a proud owner of a 2006 Honda S2000. Words cannot describe the way the car makes the driver feel. Pure joy and highest smiles per gallon is the closet description and I absolutely LOVE it(201k miles).

Also a proud owner of a 2014 Toyota Prius. The best TRUCK I’ve ever owned. The thing can haul so many things it’s UNBELIEVABLE! Also it’s the best daily car I’ve ever owned. 45 mpg all day and I’m not even trying (250k miles). I absolutely love both cars and both manufacturers.

Good to see Honda still producing good internal combustion engines.

Honda has my heart because I’ve had several of their motorcycles they fixed friends of mine when they had a recall and it didn’t cost them a dime

I currently have 2 hondas and 2 Toyotas. Over the years I've always just had these two car makers. I can say that hondas handle better.... But I love reliability and I find them both incredibly reliable. Both makers are easy to work on. Its a draw for me.

Considering the established reliability and efficiency of engines from the world's largest engine manufacturer, I'm excited by the next generation of Honda engines!

Bought my first Honda in 1986, brand new accord LX -I 4 door with 4 sp. auto what a gem that was. In 1992 we got a new Toyota Camry XLE V-6 and wow that car lasted over 300k with just a timing belt replacement. To this day we have stayed with both brands, just remarkable engineering and longevity.
