Make EV vehicle manufacturers responsible for the recycling of the battery packs, then see what happens

The pivot towards ev is largely due to politicians, not the vast majority of market demand.

The more EVs we get, the worse it gets for all of them. There aren't enough charge stations, and the power grid can't sustain everyone getting chargers at home.

GM and Ford are way ahead of Honda and Toyota in the game of loosing money on every EV they make. Honda and Toyota are patiently waiting for GM and Ford to exhaust their resources exploring all the pitfalls and dead ends of the EV business. Honda and Toyota are global businesses that serve global markets not all of which is going to transition to EVs at the same time, if at all.

I think he’s got it right. I read a report that estimated that to fully electrify the transportation of the modern nations, they have to increase the electricity production 3 fold. It would be impossible to pull off by 2030 the conventional way, much less the fully renewable way. Perhaps Honda’s bet will pay off.

It is so interesting that everybody keeps forgetting that the grid can only handle so much power on it in a given time.

I owned a Tesla for 2 years and ended up selling it. At 85 mph, I was burning nearly double the rate that the range predicted. Approximately, 1.8 miles burned per mile predicted. The highway isn't the place for EVs. I was constantly having to stop and the Super Charger rates were equal to owning a gas burning car getting 38 mpg such as a Civic without the "range anxiety" or constant planning of "where to charge next". I tell people that they are a great second car for around town and charge at home.

No issue with innovation, no issue with inner city electric cars. I have a big issue with the government pushing out gas and forcing electricity. It should be drivin strictly by the consumer's want for one.

I wish Honda or Toyota would produce a car like something w/ similar tech to those of the 60s or 70s. Simple crank windows and manual locks, simple gauge package, simple radio and just a heater w/ no AC. Have air bags be an option for an even more budget friendly model. Simple fabric interior. No electronics whatsoever except for the basic fuel injection and engine management to maintain high fuel eff. I'm tired of all the electronic crap in the cars these days and the sky high prices. I do well for my family but there's no way I'm signing up for a $600-700 / month or higher car payment. They could make it look nice with modern edges and still maintain a car that majority of Americans could actually afford. The CEOs of these companies are so out of touch with reality.

Honda making a smart move here, any damage will be small and recoverable easily.

I find it interesting that a 1968 VW Beetle got about the same fuel economy as a Prius and had a smaller carbon footprint than either the Prius or the EV.

Honda needs to really shock the world and come out with the 100 mpg all combustion engine Civic we know they can make.

The irony of making EVC more polluted than making and driving iC engine

All car manufacturers had low sales last year, due to the shortage of microchips, Honda was no different.
There's a backlash against the forcing of the EV market, it's not going to end well.

He is 100% right about EVs. Automakers are making EVs to keep their profit through the competition not for the sake of environment.

This is why Honda is going to find success because they are right
