I'm a preschool teacher and this is my 100 Year Rule: “A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” What I do for myself will never have the same amount of eternal impact as what I do for others, especially the most vulnerable, such as children and those with developmental disability, like my son with Down Syndrome. I may never go anywhere far from home or create anything inspiring, but if I can make a day worthwhile for someone else = magic happens.

This actually brought me to tears. I am struggling with decisions at the moment, not getting anything done. Trying to forget the problems while watching Netflix and YouTube. Your video hit me right in the heart. Thank you so much

Ok choked up on that last statement. The love of my life died 2 1/2 years ago. I’ve been going through the motions. I’ve been kind of in limbo because the dreams we had together are gone. And you said it. I’m going to die someday in the future but in the meantime, I’m choosing to live, starting now.

Even more, a couple of your other videos this morning helped me with a problem I had been facing: dealing with three big storage units full of our former house. Boxes sitting around waiting for me to deal with them. And now I can let go of a lot of stuff because I won’t be living that life again. Thank you 💕

I am 65 years old and for some reason have been pondering this exact thing. I have spent an inordinate amount of time reliving ALL the mistakes I've made, the opportunities I let go by because of fear ... Or inconvenience ... Why do we not remember the good things but waste time going back over what made us miserable ... Just so it can make us miserable again. 🤷 I have less time before me than I have behind me now. Kids ... Listen to this advice and take it to heart. The dishes can wait. 😊 Gabe you are wise beyond your years. And this old lady is gonna work really hard at taking your advice for the next ... Oh ... 35 years or so. Because I fully intend to live until I'm 100. At least!! 😉😁😘

Not many people can get up in the morning and actually put the effort in to try to make themselves and their lives better. This guy gets full respect!!!!🎉🎉🎉

I’ve watched hundreds of your videos, and gotten so much value out of them.

This one blows them all out of the water.

Reading Atomic Habits, so already thinking about what identity(ies) I want to fashion my habits for. Being more mindful for that. It's actually really liberating. And trying to be patient in that, because even slow progress with it is so good. But this video is such an eye opener, like a next step. The thing is, I have a bunch of pretty lousy health issues, and I'm not confident that I'll get "old." Last year, I got to hear my husband say "how far out is the ambulance?" over and over. It was really touch and go. So that makes this message even more urgent for those that are getting sorta short sheeted on time. It makes the habits and attitudes and quality of your thoughts vital. Last night, I thanked my husband of 35 years for all the things he did today to help me. I thanked him for being kind to me. And I intend to do that at bedtime every day from now on. Thanks. Great, great video.

🎉😊 Oh my gosh that is well said! I have been battling cancer since August of 2021 and the same thoughts that you were expressing in this video are thoughts that I have been thinking about now that I'm coming through the other end of cancer. I need to enjoy each moment of my life even now that I just had surgery and my abdomen is in so much pain but I gotta enjoy this life when people come visit me because they're concerned. I gotta enjoy every moment. The one thing that I have wanted to do that I haven't is go to Lake Havasu falls by the Grand Canyon. It is a 10 mile hike before you get to the falls.

A wise man once said to me… Everyone dies, but not everyone lives….. Soooo true… I am living my best life right now and no regrets… Life is FAR too short not to make the most of it all!

Beautiful video and message. My father is very sick and wants more time. I was stressed on how many months the latest procedure would give him but watching this realise I need to make sure our next day together is the best and fun. ❤

Oh, Gabe! You made me cry! What a powerful presentation of this message! We’ve heard “Live your day as the last one” but… there’s always tomorrow. Just stop and start doing what’s important, what you’ll remember for ever!

Oof, that was deep. Great advice and perspective on life. It is crazy how often we get caught up in the things that don't matter/don't affect us in the long run, yet forget about the actual important things. I fall into looking ahead often and lose sight of what's in front of me. Thanks for the video, Gabe.

I am in an emotional rut and this video really helped. I am bordering on depression and need to make changes but it’s hard. Zoning out is the path of least resistance.

Great advice. I stopped wasting time tying shoes to gain some of that “lost time” back. Thanks for this reminder!
