I'm back since the Maker came out. I didn't invest  for several reasons.  I bought an awesome laser cutter and I hope that  Cricut will come out with a version for the home.  This will over ride all of their machines and  the  time saved is amazing.  I like my explore air still, but I need speed for my line of work.  I will always be a Cricut fan regardless.

I feel like the edges look very rough? I am thinking about buying my first Cricut, I have been a "DIY-er" for forever but have not gotten to a point (until now) to get one! This is great at first glance and from what you say, this is an awesome improvement because of the new blade but I would definitely have to clean the edges up a lot to be happy with the project! How do you keep it from cutting into your mat. Mat are not cheap!

Thanks for sharing this. Mine completely flopped. Some ends were cut deeper than others and in the end after doing 3-4 extra cuts it still did not cut all the way through. I'm guessing my blade is not sharp anymore. IDK. I've only cut out a few leather designs with it. If that is why, then I don't think I can afford to do projects with the knife blade if that's all it can cut without going dull. Very disappointed.

I was surprised how long and how many passes it too to cut the balsawood. I also notice it cut into your mat. I don't have a maker yet, but trying to decide maker or heat press for Christmas. Not sure how much leather, fabric or chipboard I would be using. Lots of great projects to explore. Thanks for the informational video!

I notice it only had 3/32 on the balsa wood setting and not the basswood. When I did it on balsawood setting and it only cut 7 and didn't go all the thru so I'm doing a one by one cut. Guess til it goes through. However the middle of one of my e's popped on the 8th cut. But still not thru most of the rest.
