I've been a huge supporter of smite 2 but this makes me concerned about the future gods to be honest. Comparing the Fenrir model to hades model is laughable

Reminds me of blizzard and their occassionally 20 year old spell effects, 20+year old leftover models on mounds and such cause they are SO UNIQUE AND BELOVED. They aren't. Remodel him and make the og model a skin.

I'm not going to lie... That is a horrible reason.

Just because something is "iconic", it doesn't mean that something is good. It just means that people have become complacent about it.

For a game that is known for it's lore accuracy, it is insane that this... thing, that has no defining features of Hades whatsoever, is acceptable.

To create an adaptation of a pre-existing character, you need to still be able to recognize that character at the end of the day. If you show me SMITE's Scylla or Charybdis, I can still tell that they are adaptations of those characters due to the tentacles and dog heads of Scylla, and the whirlpool of Charybdis. SMITE's Hades doesn't look like his brothers, which is fine to an extent, but he also doesn't have his Helm of Invisibility, he doesn't have his bident and with Cerberus being a character of his own, we are left with nothing, but a generic fantasy wraith, that doesn't even look Greek.

Even the argument of him being "the Hades of SMITE" is flawed, cause the whole reason he has his current model is that one of his old skins got turned into his base model. It was never meant to be Default Hades, and it fails to represent the character in every conceivable way.

If you wanted to let the discourse blow over, this wasn't the move. You should've just waited to show off the new Cupid model instead. It's like this was uploaded to shove it in our faces.

I love the OG design for Hades. Just update it and make it look good. Anything they add additionally is just gravy on top. Though they should look to add more in the future and not be contempt with everything old for all characters

Give it some time. They may not have plans to remodel him currently. But only time will tell how long that will last.
