Do cabin crew get to eat left over business class Food? Of course, this is a variable. The short answer is that, as cabin crew, you would not get business class food or even a crew meal, on low-cost airlines. But in the case of legacy carriers, who do have different levels of service onboard and offer crew meals, things work a little differently.

I’m a flight attendant and my airline provides our meals (2 per f/a on long haul).
The trays are similar to those in business class with cutlery and cloth napkins with four choices of main course, departing from our base the choices are the same as the passengers but it can vary when departing from out of base.
We also have a green salad, fresh fruits and a cheese tray.
When we have leftovers in business class we can consume them because we hate wasting food.
But for a quick meal or more food we eat leftovers from economy class as they are very tasty, especially when departing from our base.
Your video is extremely accurate as always !

I'm a retired airline employee ground handler for the airlines and remembered the nice flight attendants that left us leftover meals from the flights. Awesome meals back in the day.

If I was a cabin crew member, I would love to do that

The Crew should get the highest option served to the customers. The airlines should do better, than only provide the lowest cost option, to those who are the “face” of the company. It’s always the little things, that go a LONG WAY, to helping create a better atmosphere for customers… I guess the bottom line, is ALWAYS more important, than the people.

I’m a crew member and we’ll eat any meals not accepted by pax. BUT, I often eat my own food because plane food gets tiring after awhile and I at least know what I put in my own meals

In the good old 1990s when not on flying duty but transport flight, after the meal service we sat down on cartons near the rear gally and had a party with crew meals and leftover meals. Beer and Cigarettes. Different days then.

That pilots eat different meals is airline policy, and not mandated by any institution. I know that Condor for example does not mandate it but recommend it.

If hate flying AA because of their lousy first and business class food (and pretty much everything else at that third-world airline).
Other airlines fluctuate between bad and good (and anything in between). AA is consistently lousy.

I work at an FBO, and any left over catering is free game for us. Example Champion Air (N3DE) came to bring racers and pit crew, and when they left, they ordered McAllister‘s, and after everyone had their food, we got the rest. Lol. We had food for 2 daysz

Worst meal I’ve had was when my family were flying back home from London Heathrow to NY JFK in 1982. The catering staff had gone on strike and each passenger was given a boxed lunch.

The best meal i have had onboard (and one of my favorites overall even in the ground) was a SWEET PUMPKIN SOUP on Turkish Airlines Business. It was simply spectacular.

Simple flying! I would recommend looking into flight catering for cargo carrier flight crews. I had a family member fly for FedEx and used to talk about Memphis BBQ catering. The chocolate cake was supposedly quite good!

I was on a Trans American flight once and the flight crew, along with with many passengers got food poisoning. It was determined that fish was the source of the food poisoning. Because the flight crew was deathly ill, a passenger, who was a former Air Force pilot, landed the plane. As fate would have it, he was only on the plane because he wanted to patch things up with his girlfriend who was one of the flight attendants. It was very traumatic indeed as he had a drinking problem. In the end everyone survived even though the plane landed with no landing gear.

Here in Oz our contract states ‘Crew meals are to be of the highest cabin class onboard’. Nowadays many fights don’t have a First Class cabin, so we get Business Class meals. A few of our aircraft are all economy so we just get economy meals. There’s always lots and lots of food to eat.

Also, due to quarantine regulations any leftover food (apart from sealed items) has to be incinerated on arrival into Australia.

Always bring my own food to long haul flights. Over the years got very creative.

My favorite two best meals were both on continental U.S. flights. The first one was on a "repositioning flight" 777( UAL) to LAX with 6 paying passengers, we pretty much sat where we wanted to and ate throughout the flight to LAX! It was almost like flying a large private jet to L.A.. The second was a first class (upgraded from business) flight from ATL to LAX. This flight was memorable as I also sat across from Lionel Ritchie( singer). I had a fantastic meal ending with ice cream and toppings. This flight was on Delta many years ago! FYI, Kelsey "@ 74 crew, " touches on crew meals on at least one of his YouTube videos( he's a 747 F/O for Atlas Air)! Thx!!👍🇺🇲

Back in 1995 days I flew Midwest Express a lot. All business class cabins and all business class food. Loved the direct DCA to OMA with steak, twice baked potatoes, hot rolls and cheese cake dessert. What an airline!

I was flying business class once on a BA 4 class 747. The crew had miscounted the meals while taking the meal requests and didn't have enough of the business class pasta meal. So they gave me the first class pasta dish.

On Continental Airlines, the crews skimped on business class portions to save some for themselves. I saw that at least 15-20 times. Not sure if that was because the airline didn’t provide meals for them or some other reason(s).
