Demonstrating Achievable Change
Utilising data to guide land management decisions

Andy Wear and Jen Hunter of Fernhill Farm, were voted Sheep Farmer of the Year by Farmers Weekly last month. The BBC attributed the win to their “holistic approach to land management”.

Winning ways include:

* Their land did well in this past Summer’s drought. Neighbours kept asking Andy why he had so much grass.

* They shear wool by hand with blades to eliminate the noise and vibration of machines and their sheep relax as though being massaged.

* They lamb outdoors, and feed only grass with low inputs, reducing business overheads.

* They focus on meat and wool quality, as well as wool genetics, achieving high premiums for fleece sales through Woolkeepers.

They speak about their experience over the past three years with Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) to improve their management of the land.

3LM equips farmers with the framework to regenerate soil and biodiversity, enabling health and prosperity now and into the future. #holisticmanagement
