How to use a pipe threader threading a steel pipe

Step by step tutorial: Always remember to use safety googles, gloves and necesary hardhat before using any construction tool!

Steps:

1. Cut the pipe to the size you need.

2. Rim the end of the pipe to avoid
having steel slivers in your pipe.

3. Adjust the threader pipe size
to the size of your pipe. Then begin
threading the pipe and add oil
to avoid overheating and burning
the dies.

4. complete the thread by passing
the threader 1 1/2 threads past the
threader

Thats a nice machine. I had a bigger one at school. Also it had a lever on the dyes that would autmatically open the dies when the pipe gets past the end of the die. It also had an automatic oil feature that we never hooked up but we used the same oiling system in this video. Lol my vo tech teacher yelled at me for trying to put the fitting on using the machine. I didnt use a bar i used an actual pipe wrench.

Great demo on how to use it like a pro; my old shoulders & arms will appreciate not having to manually thread pipe.

Unfortuantely, the old azz Oster is pre-foot control. Looks like fabing one would be worth the material & effort. These buggers have some serious torque; you ain't slowing them down!

Shouldn’t put tape on a gas fitting pipe. Also why are you dipping before the tape?

I have been trying to thread a black iron pipe schedule 80 1 1/2 dia.when I go to apply the cutter to the pipe it wont go it just butts up against the pipe so I adjusted the setting for 1 1/2 enough to get the cutter to start, it made the threads but it does not give me that taper on the first thread so that it can start threading on the elbow that I want to attach and the elbow wont go on. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? The pipe threader brand is a Rothenberger.Any help will be appreciated.Thank you
