One reason why huge container ships like Dali are so economical to operate is that they are powered by a single, massive engine. Lose that engine and the ship loses the ability to navigate. New bridges are expensive. Perhaps it is time to mandate that similar ships must be escorted by two tugs when passing under vulnerable infrastructure.

When a vehicle accidentally falls into water, the situation can be very critical:
1. Stay calm.
2. Immediately unbuckle your seatbelt.
3. Before water enters the vehicle, quickly open the windows or use a safety hammer (prepared in advance) or use the pointed end of a seat headrest to break the window.
4. Do not attempt to open the door, as this will allow water to rush in faster.
5. The window is the best escape route. If the window cannot be opened, wait until the water pressure equalizes before trying to open the door.
6. Once the window is open, leave the vehicle immediately, helping children to escape first.
7. After leaving the car, swim towards the surface immediately. If you lose your sense of direction, follow the bubbles.
8. If escape is impossible, call for help if possible, or use the car's emergency system.
9. At the same time, if it brings you comfort or focus, recite a personal prayer, mantra, or affirming words that resonate with your belief.

Thanks to all the first responders who faced cold and dangerous water conditions in looking for survivors in the water. Sadly, it looks like the missing persons died from the bridge collapse. My thoughts are with the families at this time.

I notice people short on basic logic are saying stuff like " thats all it took to bring the bridge down or are questioning the construction of the bridge. Think about it that ship "empty" weights 95, 000 tons, There was no way the supports could withstand a hit from something heavier than 95, 000 and almost as big in length as the Eifel tower is in height. So yeah that's all it took. I am so glad they put that mayday call in to block the bridge
