Baltimore bridge collapse timeline

Investigators are trying to figure out how the cargo ship veered off course into a bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday. Genevieve Beauchemin has more on the timeline of events. #shorts

How did they loose steering when the police cant even say who was driving or who was in charge driving the ship !! Seems a little weird! Not sure all is being told !!

It's beyond frustrating how many decrepit vessels are allowed near such vital infrastructure.

It looks intentional, it was drifting and for a minute it was going in it original direction.
Then it gets power back on and turns direction into the bridge.

If you are reading this from outside the Baltimore area, we have been having TERRIBLE weather ever since the collapse. There has been days of heavy rain, lightening, high winds, hail and finally and earthquake on Friday. In spite of all that, there are heavy duty lifting cranes out there, divers in the water, steel cutters, the Coast Guard and the Army Corps of Engineers out on the river.

Could someone explain why taxpayers are picking up the cost as opposed to the ships insurance

This video doesn't show the 45 seconds before impact where the cargo ship turned 90° nailing the bridge support dead center.

The bridge is named after the author of star spangled banner song Bridge. This is a symbol of the collapse of our nation.

Looks like from the harbor map, the ship is hugging the limit line in the channel lane outbound. Too close to one of the bridge supports. Should have been more into the center of the outbound lane. If the ship would have been in the "center" of the out bound lane then suffering the propulsion plant and electrical failure would have given more time to react before drifting into the Bridge support. She was too close to that bridge support and not in the center of the outbound lane on the approach to the bridge.

I don't think that bridge could fall like that from that boat hitting it. Where is tug boat and coast gaurd

If the ship was already traveling straight why did it veer off course and as a captain shouldn't you have an object sighted on the horizon as plot point (reference point) so that you avoid other structures at all cost.
