Not even John Piper, with all of his theological differences, puts the anathema of Galatians 1 on Wright. He said that explicitly in his book.

I've read several of Wright's books and listened to him as well. The initial justification is by faith alone, the life lived after that is lived through the power and work of the H.S., and at the end, the final judgment or justification is based on the entire life lived. Work of Christ and Spirit. I don't ever remember it including man's efforts as part of the means of salvation.

I’ve noticed that a lot of pastors i ask about this have no idea what the NPP is. Is this a warning sign that we are being ignorant or just quick to discern falsehood and not giving it the time of day? The NPP has me extremely troubled in my spirit. It actually terrifies me and confuses me so much because it seems he divorces the idea of personal forgiveness of sins and personal repentance and faith and just makes is sound completely and only corporate. He never claims anything about how we get forgiven of sins or much about what actually takes place in the heart of the believer when they believe on Jesus. He doesn’t even clarify the meaning of salvation. I’ve come to realize it’s so confusing and even if he were on to something, his theology is so ambiguous that it would be nearly impossible to implement. So i faithfully trust that the Lord is plain in his word and i need not tamper with these new ideas if they only lead me to torment and confusion and feeling alone in my sin and path to salvation.

Does he still teach that we “initially get justified” by believing and faith?

I'd ask if you would actually deal with the text as Wright deals with it, point out different perspective views and tell us why one or both are plausible or not. That's what's needed. Few people are dealing with Wright in this way. YouTube videos dealing with his ideas one at a time.

NT Wright clearly teaches baptismal regeneration. That is another gospel. It is never about what John Piper says, it always about what God says!
