The principalities and powers of the air are the alotted gods or spiritual beings put over the nations. Duet 32: 8, 9 and many other places in the Hebrew bible. Demons are the spirits of the deceased Nephelim (low level spirits that torment people ..the ones Jesus thru into the pigs) N.T. Wright didn't mention the main verse you need to mention here and that is what Paul said Ephesians 6:12 English Standard Version (ESV)
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
These are the spirits that have been put over the nations. They have been defeated but not yet. They are the ones that have the power but not enough power to overcome those that have believing loyalty to Christ. And then there is another group ..in chains read Gen 6:1-4.
He also mention the rebellious Spiritual beings will be set right under God's order sort of seems like they corrected, forgiven ...not sure what he means by that statement.

That’s what I got a problem with when they said I I think Paul was saying this Paul said what he said just like the Lord said you don’t know my thoughts. My thoughts are higher than your thoughts.
