It’s crazy cause you can see in some of the examples how many particles they use. With a surprisingly low amount of particles they then can develop simulations that are crazy impressive.

0.0 = normal paint
0.01 = foam
0.1 = shower gel
1.0 = toothpaste
10.0 = liquid rubber
20.0 = watercolor paint from tube

I remember how I read in my father's favourite PC-magazine about impossible task of imitation water and other liquids in 3d graphics or it would get too much resources from the machine. It was 2003 I guess. And what we have now...
