I’ve been struggling with this for over a year since giving up the Laneige Lip Mask and I thought my lips were addicted to it. Update from last night. Thank you Samantha, you rock! This morning my lips are almost normal. Just a smidge swollen that only I would notice. Discolored around my lips like I’ve been drinking red kool-aid but not tissue growth, no peeling, no hard scaling, and no cracking on the sides. I’m able to open my mouth and move my lips with no pain. Hallelujah! The baking soda scrub, cetaphil facial soap wash, and the hydrocortisone cream layered over slathered Vaseline after wetting my lips with water to lock in moisture. I suffered for over two months. Not no moe! Finally! Thank you black baby jezuz! If I experience any further adverse reactions, I’ll update. If you hear nothing else from me, means I’m out flapping my chops being a happy camper enjoying life and living. Thanks again. Good luck.

For me it started when I began to wear lipstick on a regular basis and it started with Nyx lip liner, then I could not use my Burts Bees. I have tried every kind of lipstick and lip gloss and I’m not sure which ingredient is irritating me but it’s been three years of this struggle. I’m finally breathing easier because for a while I thought it was my diet, my mental health, the weather, my face care items... I mean I threw away bags of products. For a while I even changed all my toothpaste and oral hygiene things. I went off certain foods. Now I know it’s my lip products but I’m not sure which ones are the ingredients that are responsible. I get itchy swollen and then cracked lips that turn into a rash all around my mouth. So painful and it hurts to smile... that’s the worst part!

What helps: I found a few balms that I can use instead of Burts Bees.

-Booda Butter, Alaffia Lip Purely Coconut, Soothing Touch Lip Vanilla Rose Lip Balm. All are vegan and contain no preservatives or dyes and all are botanical and natural.

-Shea Butter, Rosehip Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil help me moisturize.

Does anyone have any tips on lipstick and lip liner brands that might be ok with ppl like us? Lol I’m down to two lipsticks from Mac and I think these could be triggering a reaction.

GIRL! I am so glad I found you! I get the same reaction from tons of lip products! Ever since I was 15 I randomly started to get allergic reactions to lip gloss/lip stick. I’m 27 now and currently have the reaction right now from trying a new gloss😫 I’ve seen an allergist and found out I’m allergic to carnauba wax! There’s definitely more that I’m allergic too which I have to see a dermatologist for. At least I know I’m not alone!!

Taking one Benadryl pill every 4 hrs worked for me. My lips get swollen and create a ton of small bubbles that can puss up. They have this burning feeling and it’s an allergic reaction to cashews. It took at around a day of taking the pills for it to subside and a few extra days for it to completely heal, hope that may help someone!

I’m 23 years old and I appreciate this video so so much. I have these burning stingy sensations on my lips and i’m embarassed when i’m at work. I also feel something coming out! Like water or some sort of liquid.. it’s a gross feeling.. I’m gonna run to the pharmacy and find vaseline and the hydrocortison cream. The way you talk in the video.. Love it! Oh my God same here!! I've been using Burt's Bees chapstick for years and about a year ago my lips started getting so dry to the point that I would get a white film of dead skin in my whole moustache area at least twice a day. To be fair, I've tried A LOT of other chapstick brands over the past year and nothing made it better, so I kept going back to Burt's Bees because it had a better consistency and plus I actually didn't think it was chapstick that was causing the dryness. However, less than a week ago I stopped using chapstick and have sticked to cocoa butter (for a lack of a more practical option), and my lips are almost back to normal!! I did use hydrocortisone for the first two days after I stopped using chapstick, but now I'm not putting anything on my lips other than cocoa butter and vaseline, and my lips are better than they have been for the past year! So yeah, I don't know what ingredient in chapstick I'm allergic to. I'm really scared to try other options, so I'll stick to the vaseline and cocoa butter for now as inconvenient as they are.

My lips just have a red ichy rash around them not actually on the lips I have no idea what it is I’ve been putting loads of lip balm on but it’s not working it doesn’t look to bad it just looks very red .. plz help
