Witches are generally believed to be women, who possess a certain set of skills or supernatural powers which are usually malignant and used to harm others. This is of course, a wildly broad stereotype. But it is true to say that Witches, can be many different things to different people and cultures. In parts of Mexico, Witches are considered not only real but very dangerous. In this video, we share 3 true stories of La Bruja, Witches of Mexico.

Please forgive my inconsistent pronunciation of 'La Bruja'...

When I worked for the state, we'd often encounter little Shrines, tucked away in closets and under stairways in businesses. some, maybe most, were protective and mixed Christian and Bruja iconography... others were more sinister in nature, like Santaria and Santa Muerta...

Mostly fascinating 🤔

The Shrines often incorporated candles, in dry, old wooden spaces.... I wouldn't touch the things placed aroundthecentral figure. If I mentioned it to the business owners, I'd simply remind them to keep an eye on the flames... didn't really want to know what some of the objects/smells were...

Brujas, like other Western Witches, also have a reputation for healing, wisdom, and protection... depends on individual nature and The Powers from Whom they beseech aid.

Cool subject and more related to Fae stories than many may realize. Thank you, Ms. 😺 🐱 😸 🐈

Bruja and Brujo do things that cover a really wide range of magical/spiritual practices. They do everything from healing, blessing and protecting on the one hand to cursing and even killing on the other. Like us Pagans, it all depends on how the power is used. The power itself is neither bad nor good, it just is. For instance, a fire can warm your home and heat your food and keep you alive in the winter. It can also burn your home to the ground, depending on how it’s used. The fire itself is neither good nor bad, it just is. So there may be a reason to fear or avoid certain Bruja or Brujo, but certainly not all of them.🐝🤗❤️

There are many videos here on YouTube from mexican witnesses. Most of them say they can transform in a ball of fire flying in the air or also they can transform themselves in big birds. They usually prefer mountains and most people are really scared of them till this day.

How did I miss the release of this video?! I have been pretty busy though - and very tired lately. Well, better late than never. 😂 This is a great subject and those are some really interesting experiences. It could quite well be, that some Bruja/Brujo behave as guardians but, as with the last story, was she protecting the young girl, or the grandmother? Or was she showing herself to a future Bruja?.... maybe? Or was the Bruja testing the young girl, to observe her reaction/response and gauge the girl's strength, or power? Children have amazing abilities. Also, and this is not meant to be in any way offensive to the writer of the experience, but another thought I have is, what if the grandmother is the actual Bruja and the woman with the cat, is merely a projected image from the grandmother herself, set as a 'lookout'. I ask this question, because the grandmother is in 'her' garden, alone, which is hidden way in the back of the property, where no one can see her. Maybe she was performing a ritual and it's possible that no one in the family knows, as witches - there are exceptions of course - 'typically' do not perform rituals and such in public. They tend to be quiet and.... unobtrusive(?). Like I said though, there are definitely exceptions to this. Any thoughts on these things? 🤔

Hate to be ''that guy''', but it's pronounced ''bru-ha'.

Bruja = ''brew-ha''; brujo = ''brew-hoe''; and brujeria = ''brew-heer-ee-ah''. ''J'' is typically pronounced like an ''h'' in Spanish, as in ojos/''oh-hos''; or Jesus/''hey-zeus''.
