Finally, I know what "deadheading" means. I thought you just plucked the top of the flower off; obviously, I had no idea what I was doing.

Appreciate it.

Short and informative. You could put the expiring ones in a small vase of water for the kitchen table for a few days. 🌺

Thanks so much! I used to pluck off part of the heads /flowers but thankfully, after this video, I deadheaded properly. Thank you!! Geraniums are a tricky one, not like your standard petunia /marigold.

I have geraniums in pots on my porch every year. I always start with large, high quality plants from a nursery. When the foliage starts to fade from the original dark green, I feed them with MiracleGro. I also deadhead them regularly, and that makes them bloom like crazy. With just a little care, they will last until the first heavy frost.

Thank you for the video. I am once that I think need to be deadheaded. I still see small buds underneath the burnt up ones. Should I still remove the whole thing if I see new buds on the same stem?

Thank you for this. If you remove the whole truss, aren’t you wasting the buds immediately below the expiring blooms?

Thank you sir. Advice taken and implemented.

Where exactly do you cut them when cutting back to promote new growth? Everytime I've tried to cut them back I'm left with stumps that never really take off.
