In this short video we show you how to propagate new geranium plants by taking cuttings from your existing plants. Note that you may also choose to use rooting hormone powder (not shown in this video) which can help to encourage new roots to form.

Just did this with an older one I keep as a house plant. Its going on 3 years old or so. 6 new babies for the garden this year, happy days!

Edit: 2 months later and I have some great flowers on them 😁

I was taught to leave cuttings exposed to the air for 24 hours to avoid fungal infection. Apparently the wound needs to try out before transplanting into the soil. I've grown pelagoniums this way for 50+ years. I garden in New Zealand where plants grow all year round.

Nice to see young people doing gardening 😃 I hated it as I was forced to do it as a child now I’m glad I was as I have an insight not a pro far from it but I’m not scared to start from seedlings and get things going 😃

Works at best with rooting hormone or in water, thou takes awhile and will wilt
