Thanks for your input! I will be graduating with my BA in Accountancy and the 150 units this fall. I will be 33 by the end of this year and have been in school for ten years on and off with finally deciding to be an accountant. You can imagine to my surprise that there is more studying if I want to be a CPA. I was only short 2 accounting classes, so I said why not get them out of the way. However, I want that life/ work balance, so working at a firm seems off-putting to me, but I know the benefits of working at a firm. On the other hand, I will also be content if I just work in the private industry as an accountant. Now if I go work at a firm, then I need to decide if I want to do tax or audit. We shall see. I think the reason you get back to ur old firm because you already know where all the pbc is located ;and the acct in tb is very similar year after year( so it gonna be easy for u to draft the fs report based on testing that u just roll over from py wp a lot of time). So, in general you just came back to your comfortable zone with more money . Nothing wrong with that and congrast .

Congrats for leaving public accounting . The big 4 glorify overworking and this year EY employee committed suicide due to being overworked. You better off outside auditing.
