Should I update to Windows 10 1909? Its time for another major update for Windows 10, but should you update to Windows 10 1909 right away? well that is going to be your choice. I will hold off for a while until I know there are no major problems. Its a optional update right now, so there is no rush to update Windows 10 right away. But will my computer be at risk if I don't update now? NO, that is people scaremongering people into updating. If Microsoft thought your computer was at risk, you would be force to update. Whats the windows 10 update for? bug fixes, security patches and added features. So why hold off from updating Windows 10 right away? There have been problems with every windows 10 update release and for that reason, I like to hold off from installing for a while or until known issues have been resolved. I can't afford to have any down time with my PC due to a bad Windows 10 update. Remember because someone says they have had no known issue with the Windows 10 Update, does not mean you wont have any Windows 10 Update Problem. So if you feel the need to be a Guinea pig for Microsoft, then go right ahead and update right away.

I did my 1909 yesterday 11/13/2019. After a couple of installation reboots and a good thorough clean up I haven't seen any issues as of yet. Prior to the 1909 I did a couple on 1903. I did a simple cleaning after those two updates. Actually, I was able to retrieve about 5 to 6 gigabytes of free space after the 1909. So far so good.

Create a restore point. Label it as 1909. Then, you can proceed with the update. There's, however, an option in the Update & Security section to uninstall an update.

Hey thanks bro, i am on 1809 and i checked for updates manually today and it showed me the optional feature update to windows 1909, but I heard many people were facing bsod and audio issues, so I am holding off from installing this update. My windows 1809 is just perfectly fine and I don't want to run into any issues by updating to 1909 right away since its an optional update 😉

After trying to update from 1809 to 1903 for 5 times in the last months, I tried this week with the new 1909. Same result: the update goes through but upon login I get a black desktop with mouse upon logging in. Task bar and explorer completely frozen and crashing, preveting desktop to come up and rendering the PC unusable. Task manager won´t come up. Tried everything I found in the forums, in place upgrade with all clean boot start, unistalling drivers, all USB/BT disconnected, safe mode, multiple restarts, etc. etc. Nothing works. I´m back in 1809 which works flawlessly. Very frustrating, it´s the first time I have problems with a Windows update :(

Installed in on one of my PC's yesterday. It's a tiny update compared to most and doesn't really offer much beyond a bit of fiddling with things that most people probably don't know about anyway. No problems with my installation, though.

i update my pc from windows 10 1709 to 1909 or 2004 version
but when it updating i mean (dont turn off pc) when percentage reached to 48% my pc shutdown automatically
have you any solution.

Done on 3 x Win 10 Pro VMWare Workstation Pro guests and Alienware 17R2 host - knock on wood... so far so good... BUT... a quick Google search shows file deletion and bluescreen results already for some punters. Good luck all! LatttePanda Alpha 864 SBC yet to go here on my end :)

Will these feature updates ever end? The only thing I miss about Windows 7 and 8.1 is all you had to worry about was security updates through windows update.

Where I work a lot of the computers including mine are still on Windows 7 which is bad since January of 2020 is coming and Microsoft said after that patch Tuesday you're on your own.

I’d like to know how long this update has taken with most people. I began installing it last night before bed. This morning at 10, it said it was at 91%. As of TONIGHT at 8, (10 hours later) it STILL says 91%!!

now i can t get windows 10 build 1909 ..The version available now on Microsoft is 2004 and I don't want this version...Can you upload an update to 1909 or 1908? I just want the update tool

What about the stupid taskbar issue - have they sorted that one yet (where is doesn't auto hide and the "cure" is to restart Windows explorer)?
