For all the kids getting into cars, you always want to go with brakes, then tires unless you’re getting wheels in which case you go with the lightest wheels you can afford (Konig’s are great for this) and the best all season sport tires you can afford (Stay away from Pirelli’s they wear out extremely quickly, I recommend Continental DWS06+) if you get a decent amount of rain where you live, then you want to get either an intake and exhaust if your car handles really good like a stock BRZ, or suspension if your car is kind of soft and doesn’t handle great, from there you go to intake and exhaust. This applies to 90% of cars, just remember that reliability matters the most when you aren’t rich

Going custom exhaust, K&N filter, and grimm speed maf hose instead would have saved you $600 to put into other things. Also not buying a lip will give you chunk, maybe good tires.

I'd skip the intake and header (they'll provide small gains at best but cause a CEL and lose power at worst) and use that money to invest in better wheels + tires and coilovers (HKS, Fortune Auto, RCE, etc.). Lip kits on these cars are just cosmetic and will get scraped eventually so I'd either skip those or just get some cheap ones for <$200.

Personally, I would’ve got a turbo kit, headers exhaust then tune. Save the cosmetics for down the road.

That cold air intake was a waste of 400 bucks

IMO hold off on the lip, get better header (preferably JDL as tomei has proven to take away some power on the new gen) and better coil overs, I’d recommend FA500’s

I love the fact that a MAP catback is more expensive then my car

For anyone thats buying the gr86 or the gt 86 the first thing you do is buy an aftermarket oil pump to avoid engine failure.

You forgot the tune price and the hardware for tuning

cobb exhaust reduces weight by like 20lbs for roughly 1.2k
HKS headers for about 1k
tuner dongle $500
aero kit 1.5k

Don’t forget the 20-30k for the actual car

Header is the only thing here worthwhile for any actual performance gains

They look so good built.

They seem fun.

But oh my god. If it went from 200 to 300/350hp…

Dad always says, you have to make $10, 000 to spend $5, 000.

This is like “storage War” shows where they name values without any buyer nor idea of installation.

Sorry if. I sound negative but I want one actually, just not sure if I should?
