Mountain lion captured after chase in Camarillo

A mountain lion was tranquilized and captured Wednesday afternoon after it led animal control officers on a chase in Camarillo.

Video from Sky5 showed the big cat wandering in between homes along Pheasant Hill Road, with police and animal control officers tracking its location after it had been darted with tranquilizers.

This actually is the cougar's natural habitat, we humans just happen to be occupying it now.

Isn't technology advanced enough to use a microchip instead of forcing him to wear a horrible tracking collar around his neck for the rest of his life.

A few years ago, two cougars were relocated to an unfamiliar territory and they both died of starvation. Relocation isn't always good for animals.

So happy to hear this beautiful mountain lion is safe and that he or she is away from all these people. I say tough luck to these pepple, you moved into wildlife habitat, learn how to co exist. This area was a wildlife habitat before these houses were built. Stop the building in wildlife habitats, dont need anymore humans, Camarillo used to be such a small quaint city. not anymore it is so over developed now like so many other cities.h
