In this video, we will talk about 8 Things That Emotionally Hurt Your German Shepherd.

✅✅ Develop your dog's hidden intelligence to eliminate bad behavior and get a smarter dog.
___________________________________________
To Be Clear: German Shepherds are intelligent, sociable, and energetic dogs that need a lot of affection, stimulation, and care to remain healthy and happy. These dogs' emotional well-being and behavior can suffer as a result of specific events and circumstances, though. In this video, we'll look at 8 things that might emotionally hurt German Shepherds. In order to provide these dogs the care they require to thrive, it is essential to understand what can emotionally hurt them. Let’s Get Started.

Number 1: Sudden disappearance of a trusted person or companion animal.
German Shepherds may experience emotional trauma when a dependable person or pet suddenly disappears. These dogs are extremely social animals that develop close relationships with their human families and other animals. German Shepherds may suffer a sense of sorrow, perplexity, and abandonment when a beloved family member or pet abruptly departs from their lives. Depression, separation anxiety, and other behavioral problems may emerge from this.
Number 2: Change of routine or environment.
For German Shepherds, a change in routine or environment might be upsetting. Because these dogs thrive on predictability and consistency, abrupt changes may make them feel uneasy and confused. Negative behaviors like barking, chewing, or even hostility may result from this. German Shepherds can adjust to changes more easily if they are introduced gradually and given lots of affection, care, and confidence. They can get used to their new environment if you create a new routine and give them plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Keeping familiar toys or objects in their new setting might also provide them a sense of security and comfort.
Number 3: Unpredictable or inconsistent behavior from their human family.
German Shepherds may become confused and emotionally disturbed by their human family members' inconsistent or unpredictable conduct. Because these dogs depend on their human family for direction and structure, they can get uneasy and uncomfortable when their behavior is erratic or unpredictable. Anxiety, fear, and behavioral issues like violence or destructive conduct might result from this. German Shepherds may develop trust with their human families and learn what is expected of them with consistent training and good reinforcement. German Shepherds can behave well when kept in a steady, predictable setting with defined rules and boundaries. This can give them a sense of security and self-confidence.
Number 4: Ignoring or neglecting them.
A German Shepherd can suffer major emotional repercussions from being neglected or ignored. These dogs are very social creatures who enjoy receiving love and attention from their human families. They may experience feelings of despair, depression, and anxiety when they are ignored or neglected because they may come to believe that they are unloved, unimportant, and undesired. German Shepherds can become destructive or exhibit behavioral issues when left alone for extended periods of time without the right mental and physical activity. It's critical to give German Shepherds the love and care they require because neglecting them can have a long-term negative impact on their health and behavior.
Number 5: Lack of socialization or interaction with other dogs or people.
The emotional health of German Shepherds might suffer from a lack of socialization or interaction with other animals or people. These dogs are extremely sociable and want for companionship with both their human family and other canines. Lack of social interaction can make them lonely, bored, and worried, which can result in aggressive or harmful conduct. German Shepherds can benefit from regular mental and physical activity, socializing with other dogs and people, and other forms of stimulation.
Number 6: Physical or medical neglect.
Neglecting to provide German Shepherds with veterinary treatment, for example, can have substantial and long-lasting effects on their emotional and physical health. German Shepherds can become afraid, anxious, and aggressive when they are in pain or have a medical issue. Neglecting a dog's medical needs can result in serious, potentially fatal conditions as well as a great deal of emotional pain for the animal. Regular veterinary examinations, vaccines, and early medical attention are essential for maintaining the physical and mental health of German Shepherds.

When my late wife died suddenly, it was heart breaking to see our GSD roaming the house looking for her. He settled down after I put some of her old clothes in his bed.

German shepherds in my book are the best dogs around even though I still love all dogs, but the Shepard is always been my favorite.

Have had 21 GSD'S The years, often think about getting another breed . But I can't they are all slightly different, but they are simply the best. Loyal loving gentle my best friends. When I die, all I want is to meet them all on the other side and run with my whole pack and, in the rest time's sit down with them and my 3 special cats. Love them all

They are proper dogs. So loving, loyal and kind eyes. Another thing not to do is play dead. They are a very anxious breed and very emotional. Their job is to protect their owners and round up their families to stay together. If the family are separated in other rooms you will usually find they will lay across the doorways. I so absolutely adore these dogs and have always had a close bond with them 🥰

When I got my male GSD as a puppy. We had a 5 yrs female golden retriever. When she past away a few months ago. He was hurt emotionally. I could see after his walks, he would look for her. His heart took a big hit when we lost her. She played the big sister role. She is truly missed

It’s true. I got very sick and my 4 month old GSD puppy was totally lost while I was in the hospital. Thankfully my neighbor took care of him and still helps. When I first got home my puppy knew I was ill. His behavior was so sincere and he did everything he could to comfort me. It’s been hard on him but he’s still in complete adoration of me and I do what I can until I recover. Hard on both of us and my family.

😂GSD are awesome. As a child they were very patient with me. Not only could I play with them but they also allowed me to do all type of things to them. Like playing with their ears, their tail, their teeth, their eyes, etc. GSD are the best for kids.

I recently lost one of my dogs. After dealing with it, I had a turn about. Initiallym I told my husband that when my second passed, I was NEVER getting another dog. Now...over a year later, I have gotten so attached and worried about losing my Medusa, I told him that when her time came, NO MATTER what I said when it happened, bo matter how I told him not to bring another dog in, to just as soon as he can, the very same day, go bring me another one, because it would be the only way I would ever be able survive it. They are as loved as my children. In spite of loving all dogs, GSDs are so much more than any other.

Before getting one I had no idea how emotionally attached GS can be. My boy is a big loveable baby. 100lbs and thinks he weighs 25. Cries and cuddles all day. But very protective. Funny how they can do a 180 in seconds to protect their humans.

German shepherds are very adaptable. My working GSD flys all over the country and never has a “home”.

There is one other thing I noticed. When your dog is a social animal it will never be agressive but will have selfconfidence. So with both my last two Tervueren Shepar Dogs, I started to walk with them without them being on the leash. I gave them full freedom. Yes they would walk away up to a 100 m or staying behind a 100m. But being social animals I knew whatever they encoutered it would work out fine. It's like granting children freedom after you teach them social behaviour and let them know their environment. This might be more easy in a rural village environment like mine. But still it works. The dogs selfconfidence is high, it's behaviour very social.
Walking in the woods my dog might smell a deel or a boar, it will put its nose high in the air. But when we tell the dog not to go after it, it will not do so.
And yes when it smelled a wolf ( nowadays thet live again arond our village ) it stood completely still, almost as saying "don't go there, it's dangerous"
Dog are the mirrors of our own life when it comes to social behaviour.

I love my boy. He smiles during walks. He is emotional.

Such a beautiful and awesome breed. I have 2 males. One is now 10 and the other 6. I know my younger one will have morn when we lose his best buddy. I will be looking at getting a third when it gets closer to that day. I have had many dogs, and breeds through my 60 years, and GSDs will always be my first choice after buying my first one. All the hair is worth it. CHEERS
