Thank you very much Dr. Ibreez ! My dream is to get a training position in Paediatric Surgery, but I’d like to ask you please what kind of non-training job can I apply for to get my CREST? How competitive is it to secure such a job which mainly allows for rotating in Surgery? I’m a final-year student and will be starting my internship at my home country this July

Could you please tell me how you started off in a non training ct 1 post and not a non training fy2 post. Also, did you not need competencies or portfolio for getting into CT ? I'm a little confused. Please let me know or direct me to a video which entails those details maybe? Thank you!

Thank you Ibreez, If one was still not sure of what he wants to specialise in even after the first year of internship at home.. would an FY2 rotation through surgery and medicine in UK help clear things up? And such a rotation Available ?

Hi Dr. Ibreez, thank you for that video. It was really helpful. I'm a doctor from India aspiring to work in the UK under the NHS. My goal is to be an Internal Medicine Trainee as well. I wanted to know, when we do apply for FY2 jobs and once we're selected, do they give us an orientation on what our duties are for that level and also, do we report to the clinical supervisor for our academic/training related queries and progress?

Hi Dr. Ibreez! First of all thankyou for all this information... at @3:50 you mention something about internship in the UK, so I want to apply for the FY1and with this I can choose a non training job (since it’s available all year round) as long as I get a senior Doctor in the Uk to sign my crest form then I can move to fy2?

Hi. How does one transition from non-training FY2 to training for a specialty? Will there be a conflict when one starts their non-training job? Like, if for example if I start a non-training job Feb 2023 and want to train in 2024. How will I transition when the non training job ends after Feb 2024?

Thank you for sharing this information 😊, I will complete my intership in my country, and pass the plab 1 and plab 2, i hear doctors talking about that joining a foundation program increase the approtointy to be accepted in the training progams, Is that true?, if I start in the UK as non tranning as CT1, and sign the CREST form from my clinical supervisor in the UK not from my country, the benefit to starting trainning program will increase?

Can we directly join CT1 non training once we get gmc registration? Or we have to progress by joining fy2 non training in the beginning?

Thank you so much for the informative video. Please could you advise regarding my situation. I had studied in china and completed my degree. I’m considering the FY1 route. I don’t have internship yet. Will there be any hurdles I can face? 😊

Please help, is it allowed for IMGs to spend part of their 12-months internship in the UK ?
My medical school permits spending up to 4 months in an outside rotation anywhere abroad, with the remaining months at my home country
