"You know nothing of tempers if mine is your frame of reference" Accurate. Hades has like, the least number of horrific responses to being offended or insulted among all the gods of Olympus.

Hades anger at zeus is honestly quite reasonable...

After playing this game and finding their personalities closest to their actual counterparts, I can now see why the Greeks got so pissed off over Disney's version.

"You know nothing of tempers if mine is your frame of reference"

Everyone on Olympus has to hide girls like contraband from Hera just to avoid having terrible things happen to them.
Aphrodite is rumored to have cursed the women of Lemnos to be smelly.
Sea storms are manifestations of Poseidon's temper tantrums.
Demeter *literally only makes winter happen because she's sad to not have her daughter*
Athena is probably the most well-tempered among the Olympians, but I hear that she was a major headache at birth.
Hephaestus is cripped *because Zeus cast him to the earth in a rage.*
Ares is basically a braggart and a bully, but that's not much of a temper thing.
Apollo ruined a small army over some cows.
Artemis turns men into stags for seeing her skinny-dip.

But Hades? Hades just gets mildly passive-aggressive while the world maligns him for ruling the land of the dead.

Bruh, I know the game tries to make us hate Hades from the very start, and I can see why considering how he treatex Zagreus., but holy hell the more I think about it he is one of the most reasonable god of the lot, aside from Athena maybe. Like... Zeus really did kidnap Persephone, Demeter sent the world in an ice age because of that, and in the same time, he really has a hell of a lot more "work" compared to anyone on Olympus. Plus that most of the others are either squabling, getting drunk, causing random wars and the like. I like the fact that he isn't the "bad guy", just a misunderstood, angry, strict father that has a lot to deal with, including a son that mostly does what he wants.

I am *FLOORED* by how myth-accurate that explanation is. I'm not used to people acknowledging that the whole "kidnapping Persephone" thing wasn't Hades' fault.

The amount of time they spent on the writing and voice acting of this rogue-like is unbelievable.

remember people, through EVERY iterations/versions of Greek mythology,
Hades is literally in the top "nicest" gods

"You know nothing of tempers if mine is your frame of reference..."
That...that disturbs me if Hades has met people even he thought were tempermental, but then again given his family when they're ready, and he was known for being the most fair of the gods.

I love how accurate this is. Hades is one of the Olympians who not only takes his job seriously but also is a pretty decent person.

Zeus basically impregnates any woman he thinks is hot, throws hissy fits when his ego is threatened and casually causes continental disasters

Hera constantly hunts down her husband's bastard children and makes it her mission to make their lives a living hell. The most famous example being Heracles where she basically drove him mad and had him kill his own wife and kids.
Not to mention she's hella petty.

Poseidon is SLIGHTLY more chill than Zeus, still his list of bad deeds is almost as long as his.

Aphrodite casually murders anyone who MIGHT be prettier than her or she doesn't like. Calling herself the "jealous type" is an understatement

Ares and Athena are constantly in a pissing contest with each other with the lives of mortals being lost in the process. Although they're both gods of war so they kinda get a pass.

Demeter throws hissy fits cause she doesn't get to see Persephone and threatens to leave the world in ice if she doesn't come to see her at least for half a year, EVERY YEAR

Dyonisus is basically the drunk uncle whose parties range from harmless fun to full blown city destroying clusterfucks...literally...

Hades, Hepheastus, Hermes , Apollo, Eros and a few lesser gods are the ones actually pulling their weight without being assholes.

Y'know that experiment where they connected the pleasure center of rats brains to a button, and the rats just started hitting the button like, all the time? To the point that they hit it instead of eating or drinking and all fucking died? Okay, now give one of those rats immortality, the power to wipe kingdoms off the map, and the temperament of a hungover badger. That's Zeus.

The amount of love for Hades from mythology is honestly refreshing.
So many times he's a villain in pop-culture bc he's "the King of the Underworld" so "tHaT mUsT mEaN hE's BAD".
He was arguably the nicest of the Gods and definitely among the Major Ones- I mean when the competition is Zeus, Poseidon, etc. it's not that hard to NOT look like an awful person.

Hades had a functional, healthy relationship with his wife. He often offered help to those who asked for it- he literally told Heracles that he can take Cerberus for one of his tasks but he has to bring him back (and on the topic of Hades' pup, Cerberus comes from Greek Kerberos which literally can be translated as Spotted so Hades named his dog Spot and that's the only translation I consider canon!).
There is only one myth I know of where Hades is "the villain" but considering the fact that our "hero" wanted to kidnap and marry Persephone in this one... Is He really?

Hades was said to be loyal and respectful towards Persophone, never betraying her (unlike zeus) and letting her go visit her mother, Demetria, the goddess of bountiful harvests, during spring and summer. It is said the periods when Persephone was on the underworld was a great sorrow for Demetria, this is why she doesn't work on Earth during winter and autumn.

Wew, considering when Hera tried to dethrone Zeus, Hades was the one god that refused to do so. He must be a good guy.

I like this interpretation of the story of Persephone and Hades. Hades doesn’t kidnap Persephone, he’s dragged into the Olympian drama of Zeus, and is forced to defuse this awkward situation with Persephone. Both Persephone and Hades probably felt pity for each other, and Persephone chose to stay with Hades after bonding with one another. Then they eventually developed their mutual friendship into something romantic, and Zagreus came to be

Throughout this entire game I was like "Godsdammit Hades would you just talk to your son?"
