In this video I show how I make a skillet or frying pan, whatever you like to call it. This is by no means THE way to make a pan, I just used tools and techniques available to me at the moment.

I am a huge fan of cast iron cookware, but that is nothing short of the most fantastic, most beautiful fry pan I have ever seen in my life. The skill and love of art that went into that piece of art was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Fantastic work.

That is one of the most impressive smithing projects I have seen. No where to hide and no option to turn a mistake into a feature. Just clean, functional design. Beautiful work.

This has to be the MOST amazing forging video I’ve ever watched, I would be the first to buy that pan if I could afford it. Thank you for a wonderful video.

Best channel on the Tube.
No talking, no absurd music, just working, just enough time warp to still be able to get what's going on, and the measurements are useful too. 👍 😎

Speaking as a cook, I can say anyone would be proud to have that skillet in their kitchen. Beautiful work.

Never thought I would enjoy watching someone forge a skillet. Yet here I am. A wonderful piece of artwork that will feed the soul. Great job.

What a great video, the great thing about carbon steel skillets is once seasoned it becomes a nonstick pan without the teflon, eggs slide around as if they were on top of ball bearings. It's comparable to cast iron for searing but with 1/2 the weight. Absolutely beautiful.

Восхищён работами этого человека. Это не ремесло то, что он делает, это искусство. Маэстро! Есть чему поучиться у мастера.

I hope people appreciate how many different blacksmithing skills went into this piece. As mentioned, your shrinking method would make a great tutorial in itsself. Nice work on an heirloom piece. Keep them coming!

I think it's fair to say this could possibly be the only frying pan on the planet made in this way and I love it. Great video!

Damn Dude, you never fail to deliver, that is one awesome skillet. Can't imagine how much pride you must get each and every day when you look around your house/property and see all the things you've created with your own hands and skill that are functional, beautiful pieces of art. You really do highlight the need for skilled craftsmen and people making the things they need.

Your skills at moving metal at the anvil are truly amazing. Having some time at an anvil staring at mangled hunks of steel isn't required to enjoy the content, but it sure helps to appreciate the level of your expertise. Hephaestus would be impressed.

Man, that is absolutely gorgeous. It's legitimate art at this point.

Looks like a pan that I would always want to use; perfect size, beautiful handle, excellent craftsmanship...It honestly seems perfect

Beautiful work as always Torbjorn! When we first moved into our place we had a blizzard and I went out to my shop to discover all of my tools under about 2ft of snow. Needless to say I made sure to get it nice and sealed up now so that doesn't happen again! Thank you for sharing your work!

That is a downright piece of art Torbjörn, just wonderful. I recently bought several French carbon steel frying pans, but man, this is on a completely different level…

Hi, Made one of these when I was 17 and just starting my Blacksmith trade, takes me back, so glad there is more of us out there that still have the skill that is now lost, well done.

I am in awe! I have watched many of your projects, this one hit me in the heart... I regret that I am not 50 years younger, so that I could sit at your feet and learn from the master. I salute your skills, sir!

Beautiful video. There’s nothing better than watching a master do what they do.

(Also, love the shirt!)

Beautiful work! Also, the blowtorch method of seasoning seems much less annoying than the oven method. ;)

I hereby formally petition for a short follow-up video of the pan being cooked in.
