Too many US citizens are still unaware of the scope of the crimes against the original people of North America. President Biden’s apology today is a strong step in the right direction. I believe he is a good man with a sincere heart, and great empathy. The apology must be followed by action to show the willingness to make things right and to Honor the Treaties.

This long over due apology from a President of the United States and its U.S. Government was quite an emotional statement. Please give a listen to.

As an Indigenous woman, I believe that the sincerity of this apology is questionable. One should not merely accept the word of an individual as truth; rather, one should examine their actions to ascertain the veracity of their claims. If he or the government were genuinely remorseful, they would implement measures to rectify the situation. However, they have not done so, and it is unlikely that they ever will. The government's objective has been the eradication of Indigenous populations, that goal which has been met with considerable success. This is a strategy designed to enhance his public image.

Shouting through your dentures isn’t enough, Joe. The US government needs to pay a massive amount of restitution to Native Americans with funding and policy to rebuild the native community to a prosperous state.

i'm more than really glad that this took place. I hope it will be a small step to bigger & better. The Indigenous People deserve "the firsts" of everything in our country.

Why screaming, repeating? This does not sound like a heartfelt apology.
Too late as if he was never knew it before, coming from long serving senator.

That's a lot of promises for someone who won't be president soon. I sincerely hope the U.S. government follows through this time.

You can feel the difference from the apology. Thankfully we have a very strong President to come forward and admit what was done. We need more of this.

Thank you, President Biden. I lived where there had been a Baptist Indian Mission. There was a graveyard. 💔
