He’s not wrong, that thing is designed for ship to ship fighting. But against a fast moving ship who’s ship and crew are designed and trained for fighting fast moving sea creatures. They’re the logical choice

When I see giant ships on movies I always envision myself on the beach, retrieving miniature versions of ships who sunk or gets destroyed at sea

It’s an impressive ship, there’s no denying that

But against a sea monster? That thing would be sunk before it even lands a single shot

For one thing it’s way too big, which costs it speed and maneuverability, and even if a sea monster is really big, it’s still gonna swim really fast, and outmaneuver ships every time

Then the cannons are pointless, a sea monster doesn’t need to emerge from the waters to attack, and even if it does, if the cannons are actually fixed in one place, it means they’ll probably miss most of their shots, which case they’re useless

And now for the most useless part of the ship: THE CREW

From the sounds of things, the ship was to be crewed by soldiers, not monster hunters

The problem with this, is that soldiers understand HUMANS, they lack experience and knowledge necessary for hunting something that doesn’t think like a human

And fighting a sea monster out in the ocean would require the best sailors to pilot the ship, and monster hunters to handle the beast

Sending military men on a mission like that, with a ship like that, is the biggest and most moronic waste of resources I’ve ever seen
