As a Frenchman, I would defend american breakfast. When I visited the US, there were many more diverse breakfast than this and some were really good. It seems to me that you have a negative political bias toward US that you wanted to externalize in one way or another.

This dude needs to come to the south and get himself a big chicken biscuit with sausage gravy, a hefty bowl of grits with bacon pieces, a waffle, and a never-ending cup of coffee. The coffee served by an old lady that goes like, 'you want some more coffee, sweetie?' every time she walks by.

Where’s the hash browns or home fries? Every diner in America has some kind of fried potatoes in its breakfasts. These are much more common than pancakes.
