I'm sure it wasn't added due to time constraints, but one big benefit with Linux commands is you can use regular expressions now, not just basic patterns. RegEx could be a whole series of videos on their own though! You could see a bit of the benefit with the "." For a single character match in one example.

grep -v "172\|192" also works and is slightly shorter, especially for many terms
