It’s short but so true and a powerful profound truth
One of my favorite teachers even though he’s gone off the earth each time I hear him just doesn’t seem like he’s actually gone 💕

For those who mentioned about James, you might want to check how James used the word justification in a demonstrative way, as in referring to how we perceive whether a person is truly saved. Both Paul and James appealed to Abraham and Rahab for grounding their understandings of justification. Paul pointed to the events when Abraham and Rahab first believed YHVH, and their faith was accounted for as righteousness. Meanwhile, James pointed to the event when they demonstrated the good works long after they first believed. For Abraham, it was when he was about to sacrifice his son, whereas for Rahab, it was when she helped the Israeli spies long after she had first heard about YHVH's work of dividing the sea. See that nowhere did James in these stories point to anytime near their times of death. You can't say that works also become the co-basis alongside faith for God to justify men, at least not from the way James described it. We have not even touched 1st Clement, where he literally explained the doctrine of Sola Fide very clearly.

I completely agree that we are saved by Christ and Christ alone, our disagreement is not on the source of our salvation but the way it comes to us.

"I will go peaceably and firmly to the Catholic Church: for if Faith is so important to our salvation, I will seek it where true Faith first began, seek it among those who received it from God Himself." ~ Elizabeth Ann Seton

The same "this or that" proposition can be asked to the Protestant. Are you saved by Christ? Or by your faith alone in Christ? By agreeing that your faith is what saves you, you deny that Christ himself is what saves you.

Iam Catholic, and I KNOW I am saved by Christs Blood and Christs Blood alone . I chose Jesus as my only Saviour . No name under but Jesus for Salvation . In Jesus Name

Scripture shows that Abraham, for example, was NOT justified "by faith only."

Abraham acted on his faith and obeyed God. That was his "works, " and for *_that_* whe was justified and deemed a believer . . . "and not by faith only":
■ "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." (James 2:24)

Faith without works is DEAD.

Today Jesus saves *_believers:_* those who (like Abraham) act on their faith and obey God. Jesus is:
■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9)

Sadly, Luther and his followers take Paul's "not by works" out of context (works of the law, good works) and then go on to dismiss all works as unnecessary. Grave error! We must obey God, who "now commands all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30).

Otherwise we'll perish, as Jesus warned:
■ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Jesus, in Luke 13:5)

Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish:

■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Therefore it is entirely *_obvious_* that "faith alone" is not enough.
