The minimum is unexceptionable. Push yourself until pain is normal. being uncomfortable wet and cold all the time is a lifestyle Bro. You’ll truly find out who you really are in survival mode. There’s no easy day!💯

Do everything 5 times back to back and record your last set as your results and see if you're in the competitive range. Then you'll be better prepared.

Heres a bit of harsh truth for selections/schools like this. Full disclosure, i was not a seal. I was army sf. The admin pt numbers are not difficult to get. Anyone with a body fat percentage that isnt crazy high can achieve those numbers in 3-6 months. Definitely. Performing to that standard while sleep-deprived, hungry, and mentally smoked is a different story. You will want your numbers to be much better. The part you dont hear explained enough is this: you cant exercise or train character. For SFAS, you wont be allowed to attend unless your fitness is solid. The prep course certainly did it for us (18x), but we still had to qualify physically before that. Whats more likely to make you a non-select is chatacter issues. Are you a liar? Are you full of yourself? Can you be a great teammate? These are the things you should be considering. Good luck to all of you going for it. I hope we get to see you with your tridents or berets in the future.

People got to understand that this is the minimum physical screening process. That’s not to mean that it’s the whole course and it is definitely not based around this standard
You’ll end up doing hundreds and hundreds of sit ups and push ups in a row during training, not to purely test your physical capacity but more to test your mental strength

I'm a 23-year x Navy SEAL and I'm going to give you a little P 's a way to get some rest time without ringing the bell just get injured and they will give you 6 months to recover but if I were you I would go as far as I could so you can get some decent training in so you won't tell the rest of the course. 149 seals I was one of the 22 that made it all the way through without injury. I also I'm going to give you some pointers make sure that you are in absolutely Tip-Top condition before you even try out because you will be ringing the bell real quick

Only the strong survive. Only those who fit the criteria and meet it the demands the Navy expects of them will make it

When I was in the Army, I could pass all that (Idk about the swim though) my average pushups was around 80 and sit-ups were around 70. My best run time was 11:00 for a 2 Mile. When I would go to the gym, Id do pull-ups and I could do about 15.

Most regular infantry battalion members in nz were smashing that and some. 10min 50sec is very generous for a minimum standard. The current minimum standard just for the nz army for males is 1.5 miles in 10min 30sec, it fact and on the NZDF website

So 6 minute mile. But a lot of the running in on sand. Im pretty sure the timed 5 mile run is 35. Again in sand so blisteringly fast and dont forget your daily volume minimum of 6 miles and that is just for chow again in sand. So not only do you need to be fast but you have to good volume to handle the daily grind.

Those are the minimum requirements, anyone that can only do the minimum won’t make it.

I could've done that at 19! Now, in my 70s, maybe in my mind....

those numbers actually do pretty much guarantee that you'll pass and be given a contract for one of the 5 spec war billets. Those are all qual/autoqual scores

10:30 mile and a half seems way harder than 12:30 for the swim

I think folks need to realize that what is described here is just the minimum standard for navy fitness, and to get into these programs. The training that they go through is much more intense and much more involved than the standards which are explained in this video.I’m a 20 year Navy retiree, and what is described in this video is basically a male physical fitness standard for all the Navy, depending on one’s age. The standards for Navy Seals and other special forces programs, more difficult and much more intense than what is described here.

All of those testing standards are a joke except for the 500m swim... Seals should be held to higher standards..
