well, the problem most people have in calculus is that your calculus teacher will expect you to know the prerequisites (such as algebra). most people do not fail calculus because of the calculus concepts, the fail it because they do not understand algebra well enough.

Don't know if it was this one where you mentioned a mnemonic - sin is something that

I made up one I prefer.

sin is something that combines

(cos and sin on each side of the operator)

cos is something that switches

(sign of the operator)

For the first few trig identities, if you took the square root of both sides would the equality still stand? Like sin(x)+cos(x)=1 and 1+cot(x)=csc(x)?
