Imo the first scene fits even better, because Riley was running away from home and as a kid, she could have easily been kidnapped and awful things could have happened.

The first one represents depression and gloom as was said by the director, the second one is an anxiety and panic attack. Depression and anxiety are very common mental disorders with each having their own problems. If I had to choose, it would definitely be the first film, since Riley was the one who chose to run away so she could’ve been hurt and she also was feeling numb and lacked feeling overall. The first was both internal and external while the second was more just internal.

Context: In the first movie it was an emotional block to the point that they could no longer control Riley's emotions. In the second it was an Anxiety Attack so fast that Anxiety touched the buttons at very high speeds. The creator He proposed that it was 120 or 50, said the creator.

As a person who deals with depression, I felt the first movie. However, when i heard "I'm not good enough" in the second movie, i instantly began to cry. Both are amazing movies, thoughtful, and teaching, unlike most of the animations that are made nowadays. :)

Inside out 1:riley cant feel emotions anymore and get overpowered by gloom(and yes his canon is that black thing is a representation of depresion by the own creators)
Inside out 2:riley having a anxiety atack....the scene represent perfect how one feels in these case you try to do what ever to fix it but you are not moving anything you dont know what to do
