Since I've upped my vitamin D intake at the start of the covid thing, I've noticed that I have been sleeping a lot better.

The man talking of peer review goes on to emphasize that process is academia and not science. And that leads us down another path, who is making the rules. Follow the science? No, just follow the money. Thanks for shedding more light on medicine, Dr. Sam, and now Tony

Prescribed medications definitely make me sicker...! And doctors don't seem to take any notice of when I tell them medication made me feel much worse. Wish I had a doctor like Sam. Love your videos..

IF YOU HAVE OSA PLEASE READ THIS! I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) 12 years ago. I'm not obese and never have been. I've been successfully using a CPAP machine ever since a month or two after my sleep study. Using a cpap DOSE NOT come easy. It took me almost two months to get accustom to using the device and now I use it EVERY night. I wont go anywhere without it. It may take time to get use to using a CPAP machine but the results will be worth it if you obstruct while sleeping. The positive air pressure will open the obstruction (relaxed soft tissue in the upper airway) and allow you to remain in REM sleep longer throughout the night and potentially overt long health consequences from being hypoxic while sleeping year after year.

not all people with OSA have a weight problem, I did the sleep test at home, which I believe is more accurate to the results than doing the study in a hospital. Now I am 4months on CPAP therapy and I feel so much better already. Yes it takes time to get used to it but the benefits outweigh the risks and It has made a big difference for me.

I have been using a c-pap, for about ten years…It was to prevent Stroke and Heart attack issues . The first month of use was full of difficulty, then things smoothed out. NOW, I can’t live without it, and have consistent good nights of sleep, dream in color and am well rested in the morning ‘s. In fact, if my house was burning, the first thing I would grab would be my C-PAP !!!

That pump/compressor contraption cured my apnoea. It was such a schlep that I chucked it out and just quit the apoea, by breathing according to the advice of Patric Mckeown in his book "The Oxygen Advantage"

I’ve been on Zoloft for about five years for anxiety and depression. Was determined to stop the medication because of long-term side effects. I switched to meditation walking 2 miles a day healthy diet and Himalayan plant medicine. Still was having issues so I added mudras to the mix. Works very well for me.

I can confirm Tony is spot on with this. Weight is a big issue. You can bet most that have apnea are overweight. I lost some kg and my sleep is improving.

Same with stress. Reducing stress is absolutely huge when it comes to improving sleep.

I have apnea and had several sleep studies I have to agree it is hard to sleep in the sleep studies! However the stopping breathing happens even if you are not fully asleep so the tests have some value. You also get use to the CPAP machine and I like it now. But it’s great to see these things discussed!

I totally agree with the bad hospital assessment, my experience was similar and totally flawed. However after a habit changing and slightly torched adjustment period, the CPAP thing workes very well for me, on the odd occasion when I'm sharing sleeping space, I'm told I go into a deep sleep whereby I never move, hardly make any noise apart from digesting and farting rumbles, and have awesome sleeps.the cpap adjustment is or was difficult, but persistent paid off, now today I lay back, get comfy, turn air on and I'm asleep very quickly.perfect.

I saw a rather large lady drive her gofer through a McDonald’s drive through one morning . I shook my head and thought maybe that’s your problem sweetheart .

I went through a similar sleep study, with a couple of wrinkles. They didn't wire me up until after midnight for some reason, and by then I was in that zombie state past being sleepy. Then there was the "sleeping" on my back (stomach sleeper here) in a well-lit COLD room on a hard hospital bed with only a thin piece of fabric they called a "blanket" - I don't think that word means what they think it means - that wasn't long enough to simultaneously cover my feet and my chest, and plenty of background noise to keep me entertained. I don't think I dozed off even once. They probably thought the equipment was broken, because I got no results, and, thankfully, no CPAP machine.

I did find something to help my sleep apnea, which was to join a local choir as a tenor. The rehearsals and performances toned up my mouth and throat enough to make a significant difference. Sometimes I sleep through the entire night, which is kind of miraculous at my age (photo is from about 45 years ago).

I am very grateful to find an honest and decent doctor online.

I had a similar experience with a sleep study. The technician told me I did sleep. However, though I may have relaxed some I am quite certain I was fully cognizant all night. Fortunately he also said I did not have apnea. The whole thing was a farce in my thinking and was just another brick in the wall of my distrust of the medical system. I have since withdrawn from the allopathic medical system and am a die hard homeopath. At age 65 I'm pharmaceutical free in Tennessee. Praise God!
Thanks Dr. Sam for being a beacon of truth in these trying times.

This video is consistent with my experience going to a sleep clinic. My doctor wanted me to go to the sleep clinic, but it turned out to be a waste of time, just as described in the video. I was given a CPAP, but it didn't help me sleep, and I ended up throwing it away. I knew I didn't have obstructive sleep apnea because I had uninterrupted dreams.
