The pilot said a key thing: "It was registering on TCAS like an aircraft". Hence the 'UFO' had a TCAS system (Mode S transponder) but wasn't squawking a transponder code for ATC, and wasn't big enough to give a radar return. That isolates the type of vehicle to be looking for. Who's putting Mode S transponders in drones?
