Riker and Troi could have showed up on the Baku planet and be like: "Oh hey, we're part of that Starfleet squad that saved the lives of everyone in your pathetic community, could you please let us stay here for a couple of years so our son doesn't die?"
Baku: "Oh sure, we have a nice chalet for the four of you!"
*FIN*

Metaphasic radiation, that word is too big and sophisticated for Kurtzman. "The soil has regenerative... _powers."_ That's more on Kurtzman's level. Kurtzman's lack of sophistication and intelligence is so obvious in the writing.

I could definitely see the Baku planet being a Federation protected planet, but theres no way Riker didn't have enough pull to at least ask the Baku, who would have easily allowed them there, especially considering HE HELPED SAVE THEIR WHOLE PLANET!

I love how Grin knows more about Star Trek than all of Bad Reboot and Kurtzman.

I never understood this concept “the soil has regenerative properties.” Were they hoping their son would come back as a zombie 😬

I bet Kurtzman doesn't even know that there is a movie called Star Trek Insurrection.

More like that the writers forgot that star trek was not a generic sci-fi shoot'em up space show. It once had intelligent writers, working hard to develop a universe with great characters, believable sci-fi, and story lines meant to entertain while inspiring the viewer. STP is an assault on everything that made star trek great.

Riker and Troi turn up at Baku with their sick child and ask 'Can we relocate some of your irradiated regenerative soil to another planet?"

Rotten Tomatoes critic consensus - "Anchored by the incomparable Patrick Stewart, Picard departs from standard Starfleet protocol with a slower, serialized story, _but like all great Star Trek it tackles timely themes with grace and makes for an exciting push further into the final frontier."_ Major Grin has proven them wrong so many times. Kurtzman has no grace and eye torture is not exciting.

At this point star trek Picard isn't even canon.

Plus the three or four different versions of suspended animation we've seen so far...

"What I think we should do is just freeze him. I mean, he's got a disease. Why don't we stop it where it is? He can always get to a doctor when we get back home."

What about the drug from Cerberus II? (Too Short a Season TNG S01E16)

I always laugh when theres some sources claiming that Captain Archer lived until he was like 200 years old due to advances in future medical work, and yet Picard can´t seem to last longer than a decade despite being friends with an omnipotent being that could just make him young again.
actually why doesnt Q do that? Surely if Picard dies of old age, Q will be bored again.

Major Grin, thank you for doing what you do. You do the impossible... you make STP, STD entertaining.

Proof that no one who makes new Trek even bothered to check on a few basic details.

I thought metaphasic energy was how you got rapey ghosts.

Also forgetting that little (pun intended) transporter accident that rendered four of them into children. You would think someone would have done some research on that to replicate it. Which would mean no one would have to die of old age.

In some other circumstances that could have been a happy ending send off for Picard if he went back to live with whatserface in the briar patch.
