Star Trek: Picard sees Patrick Stewart returning to his iconic TV role, so it’s no surprise that there are plenty of references, shout-outs, and Easter eggs for die-hard Trekkies to find. There are references to both Star Trek: The Next Generation and the films that featured the characters from it, and they start right out of the gate in the first episode. In fact, some of them make the scenes that they call back to even more heartwarming, knowing that Picard still looks back on them fondly years later. Let’s take a look at some Easter eggs you might have missed in Star Trek: Picard episode 1.

During the Interview, there are four lights on. The two lighting, one standing lamp, and one table lamps. THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS.

Picard forgot what Kirk told him "Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference."

He was the Captain of the Starship Enterprise, the Federation flagship. As an Admiral his voice was lost.

I could be wrong, but didn't Lal choose a feminine persona? She was not created as a female, but neutral and it was her choice later in the episode.

Is the five queen cards in data's hand an easter egg for Q future appearance in the series?

"Blue Skies" was also sung by Bing Crosby in "Picard"; Bing was, of course, the grandfather of Denise Crosby, aka "Tasha Yar" on TNG.

My Guess 5 queens, dreams of data, and they share one thing in common. Borg Queen? The first episode was deep. Star Trek is Back...

If anything, ST Picard has sort of enhanced ST Nemesis ....also really glad Chabon and Goldsman took continuity to heart, I think that's what trek fans were looking for.

Easter eggs ? I call it memories that is mandatory to get the context of Picards past life in Starfleet in to the narrative of the new series.

The only on that escaped my first viewing was the Dixon Hill hat. Everything else was glaringly obvious to any long time fan of TNG XD
