I want to shift from software dev to cyber and being remote is super important to me. I’m glad to see cyber roles can be remote too, I do not want to go to the office lol

Hi Sandra, I was not expecting this video! Good luck on your new job and your new journey!!!! The fact that your first job in cyber was a rotational program and had you doing different roles was amazing and probably set you up for success in any of your job endeavors. Interesting about cyber in small companies vs. big ones. I work for a small company and I do like the direct impact I can make and how it works getting work done. Also, remote work for our jobs was a game changer for me and I do not imagine going back in to an office by force so i see where your decision came from. Good luck again!

So glad to hear things ultimately worked out with your fully remote position at the smaller company. Its weird because I was recently let go from a child company of a global firm. They said I had a skills mismatch but I was honestly overqualified for it. Before I got severances and separated they signed on 4-5 new agents to replace me lol. Now I am a Senior Information Systems Tech at a military vet friendly & flexible place. This could be good experience before I finish my Bachelor's in Cybersecurity this June. Your knowledge is so much appreciated and I'll let you know how things turn out!

I'm actually going through some of this now, I left my old company which was a MSSP to take a CyberSecurity role at a FinTech company. It's not what I thought it would be and the fact that i was forced to come into the office before i wanted too really rubbed me the wrong way. Keep up the good work!!

I agree with you on reason #1. Many companies are not reading the room when it comes to transitioning to this new remote work landscape. Returning to the office should be optional and/or occasional, in my opinion. There are also so many options to work remote partime-fulltime, that I would never feel obligated to go on premises 5 days a week ever again. Congrats on the new role.
