So how about if I sew for a while - get covered in thread bits - and then turn on my camera and chat about thread? LOL! So here's what I think about the different kinds of sewing thread available and what you would use them for.

Thanks for watching - please subscribe to my channel so you don't miss a thing!

Name brands of the threads would be helpful.

great video, do you have any quick tips on how to check thread for being old other than using the machine?

What do the different color cones mean? The center tube of one is orange and the other is green, what does it mean?

If polyester thread gets brittle with age on the spool, surely it does the same thing after it's been used in a project ?

You didn't give any brands of the thread🤔 ???
I've noticed you haven't responded to any of the questions in the comments.☹️

Thanks Caroline for sensible approach to threads. I must admit to using overlocker thread for quite a lot of projects and it works great. Greetings from North Wales UK. Colin

Save watching - don’t buy cheap rubbish - that’s about all it says

The reason I don’t use polyester thread with cotton fabric is because polyester has a lower melting point than cotton. If I iron polyester thread on a cotton iron setting, the thread thins and weakens.
