USAjobs Application Status / Notifications - What they mean

This video explains the USAjobs Application Status / Notifications. I cover what the statuses mean and why they don't update. What most people don't know is that the status and notifications are updated based on the buttons clicked on the HR side. The status has nothing to do with USAjobs at all. There are many reasons a status will be at a certain step and also why it will stay frozen. Watch the video to learn those reasons.

What does certificate results mean ? “Certificate results” was in the subject line of email. The body of e-mail stated, “this notification is to inform you that your application referral status has changed for the position of… not selected” never seen a email like that.

Hello, once an interview is conducted and references contacted, HR is now stating that a “tentative selection” has been made. Would the applicant be notified immediately, or is the next step for HR to review and they will notify the applicant?

Hello sir. I interviewed with a panel several months ago, and the application status hasn't changed, from reviewing applications. No final disposition has been updated. I am not sure how to reach HR for that agency, nor know whether I should give up hoping for the position. It's with a federal law enforcement agency, if that makes any difference as to whether I'd hear back or how to move forward. Also, I am a veteran.

So i applied for a job. I did my interview about a week ago. USA jobs application says there was one applicant. The job stage says hiring complete, but no one has reached out yet. Do you know what the delay is?

Is it true that if a job announcement is only open for 3 days, they already had someone pre-selected for the job? And if that’s the case, why would it be open to the public and not internal?

My "application package status" says not referred. However, I got an email that says referred. I asked what that means and cannot get a straight answer. Any clue on your end?

My application status has said “selected” for the last few days, but I haven’t gotten a call or email yet with a tjo. Is it possibly an error or should I be expected an offer?
