The bit about inhaling the mayor of London is reference to when Boris Johnson was the mayor of London and he sold off half of the fire stations for a tidy profit.

The apology about the largest bird was on the episode directly after their Argentina Special where they slightly angered the entire nation and almost got killed. The apology was a joke where instead of apologising for annoying the Argies, he just corrected a trivial mistake.

To give some context to the "I said the condor was the largest flying bird in the world" bit - this was following the Pategonia Special, mostly filmed in Chile and Argentina. The Argentina part especially caused a major scandal when Falkland War vets at their end destination of Ushuaia (where they were meant to play car football) accused Top Gear, Clarkson in-particular, of trying to insult Argentina with a car licence plate that they claimed referenced the 1982 Falklands War (which Argentina lost).

They, and the crew, ended up by violently chased out of Argentina by a growing mob, with the convoy left badly damaged and them having to abandon the cars the trio had used, eventually escaping over the border into Chile. For once, despite complaints from the Argentinians, the BBC actually backed Top Gear, refused to apologise, and throughout the final series of the original trio they made numerous pro-Chile references, and when Margo Robbie and Will Smith were on as guests and asked Clarkson what was wrong with Argentina he replied "every-f***ing-thing".

It's worth watching if you've not see the full thing, particularly how they started the trip at a Argentinian Nazi War Criminal Haven (Bariloche). That said I would say their Vietnam Special might be a more interesting watch as an American, as it's on bikes (which Clarkson hates) and they do reference the war quite a lot.

"weird world we live in, innit?"
"Weirdest world in the world."
Jeremy's genius scares me sometimes

Ah....the 40 miles from London...see....THIS is where I hate to say it, Americans will fall down the most. You've gotta stop taking what Brits say at face value. We're incredibly sarcastic, satirical, cynical and often quick witted, particularly to non-natives. We also enjoy vast historical rivalries between the different Counties and the 3 main British countries (yes, even Wales...although we don't talk about them)

He is pulling your leg, that is in Scotland but pretending near London so people did not think he was playing all the way up to Scotland or 500 miles of fun in the Ferrari!

You’re right it is Scotland, not Hertfordshire, but there are parts of England that look like that, check out the Lake District, Peak District and North Yorkshire Moors and Dales

To tie in with your Partridge reaction you should check out series 1 of the Trip, where Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon play fictional versions of themselves and drive around parts of northern England - visiting a different restaurant each episode and just bantering with each other.

To get a good feel for how funny Top Gear is, watch Jeremy drive the Reliant Robin.

The news segments on Top Gear was always gold. It was just banter all the time.

The episode with the ambulances is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I nearly wet myself when they “delivered” the patients 😂

Jeremy has done a show on his own in recent years called 'Clarkson's Farm' which is as the name suggested simply him running his own farm, but with hilarious consequences, I loved TopGear but have never been a huge fan of the Prime show, but Clarkson's Farm is very good. The challenges and Specials they did in Top Gear were superb though and well worth checking out, I think you'd get a real kick out off them

If people are moaning and complaining then you're clearly doing something right.

You’ll love the Top Gear Specials, they used to do them every Christmas
If you wanna watch one I’d suggest Middle East or Botswana Specials, there’s about 10 or 11 of them
Nice reaction man
Come on you GUNNERS!

The scenery is in scotland 2:31, if you look for the full piece on it he can be seen driving through pitlochry past Fishers hotel, my guess is the road in your clip is somewhere near glenshee

The albatross comments are because they got chased out of Argentina (literally), some Argentinians decided his number plate was a reference to the Falklands war, and there was riots and they got chased by guys in cars and rocks thrown at them. There was a big international thing made out of it and it was in all the newspapers.
People said he did it on purpose to piss them off (he hadn't).

I grew up in Hertfordshire and never discovered that small chunk of beautiful rolling hillside road teleported from Scotland; but where I am now in Norwich there is a small town alleyway that leads directly to the California Long Beach ferris wheel by means of a Harry Potter hidden door, so I'm happy now.

The road in Hertfordshire cracked me up, especially the bit where Jezza goes through a small Scottish village and claims it's Letchworth.

You should definitely check out some of the Top Gear specials. My two favourites are the Botswana and Vietnam special episodes

It didn't hurt that the BBC realized that almost every single person who complained to them would invariably be tuning in to see what else would be outraging them.

There were a multitude of reasons why they were one of the top programs in the UK for as long as they were.

Top Gear Specials a must. As said before by others. Brilliant and funny.
